IT IS WITH GREAT DESPAIR THAT I REINTRODUCE THE RESTRAINING ORDER

History

The Restraining Order gaming community is a unique and vibrant group of players who have come together to enjoy a wide variety of games. Originally formed as a group of players in the popular sci-fi shooter, Planetside 2, the community has since expanded to include players from many other games, including Star Citizen, Warhammer Darktide, Vermintide, and many others.

Manifesto

At the heart of the Restraining Order community is a cartoonish, egalitarian chaos horde that is united by a few simple rules: just be a decent human being. The community is mostly made up of players from the Eastern Standard and Central Standard time zones, with the most active play occurring in the evenings. To join the community, players must be 18 years or older, must not try to impress others with their knowledge of French, and must not use quotes from the musical Hamilton in chat channels.

The Restraining Order community is known for its sense of humor and its emphasis on having fun. Whether you’re looking to blow off some steam with some lighthearted banter or you’re looking for a group of players to join you in a heated firefight, the Restraining Order community is the perfect place to do it. So come join the fray, and be reborn ad-infinitum, into a blistering, howling void of dick jokes.

Charter

Restraining Order Organization Charter

Who We Are:
Restraining Order was founded on the principles of inclusivity, respect, and community. In a gaming world that often excludes, we stand as a haven for those marginalized, particularly the LGBTQ+ community and women, who have faced the toxicity and misogyny that too often permeate FPS and multiplayer games.

Our Mission:
We strive to create a welcoming environment where everyone can enjoy the game without facing discrimination or elitism. Here, skill and effort matter, but how you treat your fellow players matters more. We are committed to rejecting toxicity and building a better gaming culture through camaraderie, mutual respect, and shared goals.

Core Values:

Respect and Inclusivity: Everyone is welcome, no matter who you are or where you come from. The only thing we demand is that you treat others with decency. Zero Tolerance for Bigotry: If you can’t follow the simple rule of not being a bigot, you don’t belong here. Racism, sexism, homophobia, and all forms of hate have no place in Restraining Order. Fun Over Elitism: We don’t care about how many kills you have or how perfect your performance is. What matters is the experience and the community we create together. Support for the Vulnerable: Many of our members come to us having faced hostility elsewhere. This is a safe space for you to play and grow, surrounded by people who will have your back.

Rules:

Don’t Be an Asshole: Respect your teammates, and remember that we’re all here to have fun. Don’t Be a Bigot: If you can’t be decent to people, this isn’t the org for you. Contribute to the Community: Be part of what makes this org great, whether through gameplay, sharing knowledge, or simply being a supportive presence.

Closing:
Restraining Order has grown into a community that thrives because of the people who believe in it. We’re more than just an org in Star Citizen—we’re a place where friendships are built, where differences are celebrated, and where we stand together against the worst aspects of gaming culture.

If you share our values and believe in what we’re building, welcome to Restraining Order.
