History

Founding and Early Years (2603-2610)

ACRO was founded in 2603 during the Second Tevarin War, a period of intense conflict that began with the Tevarin’s invasion of UEE space. Strategically established in the Ferron system, ACRO’s mission was to support the UEE’s war effort by extracting essential resources. The organization focused on mining tungsten, titanium, and iron, which were critical for constructing capital ships used in the war against the Tevarin.

By 2610, ACRO had established significant mining operations in the Ferron System. The extracted materials played a pivotal role in building the RSI Perseus fleet, which proved crucial in key battles, including the Battle of Centauri in 2610. The battle marked the end of the war and an end to an era.

Post-War Period and Expansion (2610-2750)

With the end of the Second Tevarin War, military contacts started fading. However, the post-war period brought new challenges, including a significant refugee and housing crisis. ACRO adapted by focusing on infrastructure projects to support the rebuilding efforts. Profits from the war were invested in acquiring new gear and accelerating hiring efforts. ACRO expanded its operations beyond Ferron, establishing new mining sites in the Nyx and Pyro systems.

Dark Period and Near Bankruptcy (2750-2792)

In the latter half of the 28th century, ACRO faced significant political instability in the Ferron system. The accusations by Imperator Messer XI in 2791, which branded the system as a haven for traitors, caused a mass departure of people and businesses, including ACRO. This period saw ACRO on the brink of bankruptcy as it struggled with resource shortages, financial instability, and political persecution.

ACRO initially considered moving its headquarters to the Nyx and Pyro systems due to existing operations there. However, these systems were ultimately deemed unsuitable due to their reputation for criminal activity and lawlessness. The UEE viewed them as hotbeds for potential criminal organizations, which would have jeopardized ACRO’s already fragile standing with the government. As a result, the Magnus system was chosen for its resource-rich asteroid fields, shipyards, and proximity to Nyx and Pyro, facilitating the management of ongoing operations in those systems.

Messer Revolution and Aftermath (2792-2800)

The Messer Revolution, culminating in 2792, ended the tyrannical rule of the Messer family over the UEE.

ACRO, strongly opposed to the Messer regime after experiencing issues in the Ferron system, recognized systemic corruption and sought stability and freedom. During the revolution, ACRO supported the revolutionists by providing essential materials and logistical support to their fleets through its service division. This contribution was crucial in sustaining the revolutionary efforts against the oppressive regime.

Post-revolution, the focus shifted to rooting out perceived corruption, leading to widespread accusations and purges of companies associated with the Messers. Due to ACRO’s support of the revolutionists, they were spared, allowing operations to continue. However, the ongoing purges destroyed many companies and significantly strained the economy. Recognizing the damaging effects, ACRO began advocating for the new leadership to halt accusations against companies and focus on rebuilding the economy.

Cargo Crisis of the Early 29th Century (2800-2880)

In the early 29th century, a cargo crisis struck, severely impacting the empire, including ACRO. Supply lines had started collapsing due to rising costs of transportation. ACRO’s strong ties with RSI provided a lifeline, with the leasing of a large fleet of newly built RSI Constellation Taurus cargo vessels to ACRO in exchange for operational support. This deal stabilized ACRO financially and ensured future operations.

Expantion into Stanton (2880-2930)

After Stanton’s discovery in 2851, ACRO recognized its strategic value as a gateway between Magnus, Pyro, and Nyx. By the 2880s, By the early 2880s, ACRO began investing heavily in infrastructure within Stanton, establishing mining operations and logistical networks to streamline the transportation of resources and goods.

Pirate Activity and Counter-Measures (2930-2945)

From 2930 to 2945, ACRO faced rising pirate threats in Stanton and Pyro. Enhanced security measures and counter-attacks on pirate bases aimed to deter these threats. In 2944, Commander Marcus Wolfe led the RSI Perseus, the Valiant, and Anvil F7A fighters in the notable Midnight Assault, ambushing a Xenothreat party and capturing there leader, marking the beginning of the end for the frequent pirate attacks on ACRO.

The Disappearance of Endurance (2934)

Date: June 27, 2934
Ship Name: Endurance, Anvil Carrack

On June 27, 2934, the Endurance and a combat squadron were exploring an asteroid field near Pyro V. During a routine communication, contact was lost. A dispatched combat squad found the fighter squadron destroyed and the Endurance missing. A singel Xenothreat Gladius at the scene hinted at the attackers.

The Battle of Oberon (2946)

In 2946, ACRO’s supply and engineering divisions supported UEE forces in the Battle of Oberon. The flagship, Idris-P “Resolute”, was critically damaged in a Vanduul surprise attack, resulting in the loss of eleven crew members and two escorts.

Xenothreat Incursions (2953)

The Xenothreat incursions into the Stanton system posed a significant threat to ACRO, which had major operations in both Stanton and Pyro. Large forces were dispatched to aid the UEE in their battle. ACRO cargo ships moved supplies to the Javelin, bringing it back to operational status and allowing the UEE to drive back the pirate aggressions from the system.

The Recovery of Endurance (2954)

Date: May 26, 2954
Ship Name: Vigilant Eye, F7C-R Hornet Tracker

In 2954, an ACRO scout detected a signature matching the lost Endurance in an asteroid field. A breach and recapture plan was executed by ACRO Rangers, who reclaimed the Endurance after a fierce battle, uncovering valuable data on pirate strongholds stored on the ship’s servers.
