UNIT HISTORY BRIEF

Formation:
In 2938, following the catastrophic loss of the UEE 7th Fleet at the Battle of Tiber, the Imperator’s office quietly authorized the creation of a single, deniable black-ops detachment. Code-named Odin Veil, the unit was built from the ashes of that disaster. Standard Navy and Marine forces had proven too large, too traceable, and too slow to respond to the new breed of threats: Vanduul splinter fleets using ghost-jump tactics, Xi’an shadow operatives inside UEE space, and human corporations selling bleeding-edge tech to enemies of the Empire.The solution was simple and brutal: one Anvil Odin-class battlecruiser, five permanently attached ghost fighter wings, and a hand-picked cadre of Legatus-level operatives granted Sovereign Ultra Clearance. Their charter was never written down. Their existence is still officially denied. Motto: Silentium Imperii “The Empire’s Silence.”

Seventeen years later, Odin Veil remains the UEE’s most classified active unit. The battlecruiser UEES Odin’s Eye operates without transponder, home-ported at an unmarked Lagrange point deep in the Stanton system’s outer belt. Its five wings (Alpha through Echo) have logged more confirmed ghost kills than any three regular squadrons combined, yet no public record exists.The unit now answers directly to a three-person Oversight Council inside the Imperator’s inner circle. Their current mandate has shifted from pure retaliation to preemptive shadow defense of Terra itself. Recent Spectrum intercepts suggest Odin Veil is quietly positioning for something larger, something the public will never be told about until it is already over.
