History

The Story of Project Aether

Project Aether began not as a grand military initiative or a corporate enterprise, but as a simple idea shared between a few pilots drifting through the endless black that space is better when it’s shared.

In the early days, our founders were just freelancers running odd jobs across Stanton. Cargo hauls, bounties, rescue ops whatever paid enough to keep the ship fueled and the lights on. But between the contracts, they’d find themselves wandering: flying off the lanes, chasing strange signals, discovering derelicts and forgotten moons. It wasn’t about profit anymore it was about curiosity.

That curiosity became Project Aether.

The name came from an old myth the idea of the aether being the space between worlds, the unseen fabric that connects everything. It fit perfectly. We weren’t tied to any system, faction, or agenda. We wanted to exist in that in-between space free, curious, and open to all who share the same mindset.

As more pilots joined, the project grew into a small but tight-knit collective of explorers, freelancers, and wanderers. Some come to map uncharted systems. Others come to run missions with good company. Most just want a calm, respectful place to log in, fly together, and see what’s out there.

The Shenaniguns Alliance – 2955

In 2955, Project Aether formed an official alliance with Shenaniguns, a like-minded organization known for its humor, teamwork, and easygoing spirit. What began as a few shared missions quickly turned into a strong friendship between both groups a partnership built on trust, fun, and a shared belief that flying together should always come before formality.

Today

Project Aether remains true to those roots. We’re not a military force or a corporation. We’re a community of pilots relaxed, welcoming, and united by the same simple goal:

To explore the unknown and enjoy the journey along the way.

So whether you’re charting jump points, scanning derelicts, or just watching the sunrise on Daymar, you’re part of what makes Project Aether what it is a crew of curious souls, chasing starlight through the vast, quiet beauty of the ‘verse.

Manifesto

Project Aether Manifesto

“Between the stars, we find ourselves.”

We are explorers, freelancers, and wanderers.
We are the ones who look past the safe routes, past the trade hubs and conflict zones, into the quiet edges of the ‘verse not because we have to, but because we want to.

Project Aether was founded on a simple belief:

Space is vast enough for everyone, and adventure is better when it’s shared.

We don’t serve empires or corporations. We don’t chase power, status, or glory.
We fly because the stars call to us.
We explore because the unknown still exists.
We come together because solitude doesn’t mean isolation.

✦ Our Principles

Freedom.
No ranks. No demands. Everyone chooses their own path. Whether you’re a solo pilot running contracts or a full crew charting a nebula, you’re part of the same whole.

Curiosity.
Every unknown signal, every derelict, every quiet moon has a story. We exist to uncover them not for fame, but for the joy of discovery.

Respect.
We are a home for calm, decent pilots. No ego, no toxicity, no gatekeeping. The ‘verse is big enough for all kinds of players new or veteran.

Connection.
We’re more than an org tag. We’re a group of people who enjoy flying together, helping each other out, and sharing the quiet beauty of space.

✦ Our Purpose

We don’t know where Project Aether will go and that’s the point.
We’re not here to build an empire. We’re here to build experiences.
A fleet of individuals, moving together through the unknown, bound by nothing but the stars above and the trust between us.

The void isn’t empty it’s full of possibilities.
That’s where you’ll find us.
