Perfect Storm Astronautics

PSA was established in 2000 as the Paktu S’jet Armada in the game Homeworld, and has remained together through Freelancer, Eve and assorted FPS / RPGs. Come join the time-honored tradition.

History

The history of Perfect Storm Astronautics begins in 1999 with the game Homeworld. The Armada of Paktu (AoP) was started by WademonAoP. After merging with another organization (SSA), the name was switched to the Paktu S’jet Alliance (PSA). In May of 2000 the organization restructured politically and became the Paktu S’jet Armada, under a leadership council of Hatred PSA, Garr PSA, and Sleet PSA. The Paktu S’jet Armada remained active in Homeworld, Homeworld: Cataclysm, and Homeworld 2 until the bitter end.

The first-person shooter division of PSA, called PSA:TBW, maintained a busy Counter-strike public server and had competitive teams in both CAL and OGL.

When Freelancer was released several members moved into the online multiplayer servers and much fun was had by all.

In early 2004, the Paktu S’jet Armada moved into Eve Online, along with many other Homeworld alumni. At PSA’s peak in Eve, it was a part of some of the best wars of the time. PSA was a part of Forsaken Empire (F-E), Force of Evil (FoE) and the Village People (YMCA), to name a few, and were the owner of a conquerable station in 0.0. After nearly a decade in Eve, membership and activity has dwindled, but a core group stretching back to the Homeworld days still remains friends.

With Homeworld references in the distant past, for Star Citizen we are keeping the traditional PSA ticker and gathering under Perfect Storm Astronautics. Join with old friends and new allies as this new front rolls into the next generation of computer gaming.

Manifesto

This should be fun.
Do what makes you happy.
Build stuff or blow it up. Whatever you like.
Blowing up more than you build would be cool.
Protect the weak when you are able. You are usually able when paid.
Destroying the strong is both fun and hilarious.
When in doubt, see line 1 and 2.

Charter

The Charter of Perfect Storm Astronautics (totally ripped-off from Star Trek, with addendum)

We, the intelligent lifeforms of Perfect Storm Astronautics, determined to save succeeding generations from the scourge of intergalactic war which has brought untold horror and suffering to our planetary social systems, and to reaffirm faith in the fundamental intelligent lifeform rights, in the dignity and worth of the intelligent lifeform person, to the equal rights of male and female and of planetary social systems large and small, and to establish conditions under which justice and mutual respect for the obligations arising from treaties and other sources of interplanetary law can be maintained, and to promote social progress and better standards of life in larger freedom, and to these ends to practice benevolent tolerance and live together in peace with one another as good neighbors, and to unite our strength to maintain intergalactic peace and security, and to ensure by the acceptance of principles and the institution of methods that armed force shall not be used except in the common defense, and to employ intergalactic machinery for the promotion of the economic and social advancement of all intelligent lifeforms, have resolved to combine our efforts to accomplish these aims.

Also, sometimes it is just plain fun to blow someone up, destroy industrial infrastructure, rob from the rich, give to yourself, raze an enemy civilization to the ground, and otherwise run amok, so that should probably be allowed too, and we have made it so.
