A cooperative of interstellar freelancers bound by mutual defense and honest trade operating from Port Tressler.
Freelance Trade Group is a loose collective of independent haulers operating primarily in Stanton and nearby systems. Members retain full autonomy while coordinating routes, schedules, and defense in higher-risk lanes.
Background
The group formed organically among solo haulers running out of Port Tressler. As interdictions and pirate activity increased, pilots began sharing route intel and flying together when possible. After several preventable losses near Hurston space, those informal habits became standard practice.
Operations
FTG focuses on convoy-based hauling, shared warnings, and rapid response to distress calls. Escorts are coordinated when needed. Intelligence is shared openly among members. No mandatory ship types or loadouts.
Structure
No central command. No fixed ranks. Decisions are made per run. Experience matters more than titles.
We are independent traders by choice. We do not answer to a single employer, banner, or authority beyond the contracts we accept.
We believe trade fails when haulers are isolated. Lone ships are easy targets. Shared lanes are safer lanes.
We operate as a protective collective. Members retain autonomy, but agree to coordinate routes, share intelligence, and respond to distress when able. Defense is mutual. Warnings are not withheld.
We value preparation over bravado. Convoys over heroics. Clear comms over noise.
We do not seek conflict, but we do not abandon our own. Interdiction is met with coordination. Harassment is met with numbers.
There are no ranks that outweigh experience in flight. No orders that override common sense. Each run stands on its own merits.
Trade is our work. Protection is our agreement. Profit is the outcome.
1. Independence
Members remain independent operators. The Group does not issue mandatory contracts, ship requirements, or profit shares.
2. Mutual Protection
When operating in shared lanes, members agree to provide reasonable assistance to one another, including escorts, overwatch, or extraction when feasible.
3. Information Sharing
Confirmed threats, interdictions, and hazardous routes must be shared with the Group in a timely manner. Deliberate withholding of risk information is not acceptable.
4. Convoy Conduct
Convoys operate on agreed plans. Members are expected to maintain formation discipline, clear comms, and coordinated responses to contact.
5. Distress Calls
Member distress calls must be acknowledged. Response depends on proximity and capability, but silence is not acceptable.
6. Use of Force
Force is defensive. Escalation beyond protection of ships or cargo is not conducted under the Group name.
7. Reputation
Members do not use the Group affiliation for piracy, fraud, or contract abuse. Actions taken under the Group name reflect on all members.
8. Authority
There is no standing command. In active operations, temporary leads may be agreed upon for coordination only.
9. Accountability
Repeated violations of these rules may result in removal from Group channels or collective operations.
