Government is Man’s enemy.

History

The Redeemers of Sol, known formally as the Praetorium Solacii, were formed during the 21st Founding, often referred to as the Cursed Founding, a tumultuous period marked by genetic instability and experimentation. Intended to be a unique Chapter, they were constructed with the gene-seed of several different First Founding legions: the Iron Warriors, Black Templars, Dark Angels, and Raven Guard. This was an experiment by the Adeptus Mechanicus to harness the strengths of these distinct genetic lineages, to create a force that could adapt to any threat, whether in defense, assault, covert operations, or sieges.

However, the combination of these disparate gene-seeds proved volatile and unstable. Each gene-line brought its own quirks and flaws, and the psychological strain on the newly formed Chapter became evident. Factional divides developed, each brother preferring the tactics and doctrines of their primogenitor legions. Discord grew, and the Redeemers soon found themselves under scrutiny from the Inquisition and other Imperial authorities. Ultimately, a grave misunderstanding during a mission led to their condemnation by the Inquisition, marked as traitors for failing to conform to the Codex Astartes and suspected heresy.

Manifesto

Despite their excommunication, the Redeemers of Sol did not fall to Chaos. They remained fiercely loyal to the Emperor, whom they viewed as the ultimate guiding light of Mankind. They saw their condemnation as a betrayal by the Imperium’s flawed institutions, not the Emperor himself. Disillusioned but unbroken, the Chapter fled into the dark corners of the galaxy, determined to continue their mission to defend humanity from all threats — both within and without.

Now, they wage a shadow war against the enemies of the Imperium while keeping a wary eye on the agents of the Inquisition and other Astartes who might hunt them down. Their campaigns are characterized by a strict adherence to the Emperor’s original ideals — to safeguard humanity, not the self-serving political machinations of the Imperium’s corrupted bureaucrats.

Charter

The Redeemers of Sol employ a unique hybrid combat doctrine that draws upon the tactical approaches of all four of their genetic lineages:

  • Siege Company: The Redeemers excel in siege warfare, fortifying their positions and using brutal, overwhelming force to break through enemy lines. They utilize extensive artillery and fortification tactics, creating strongholds that are near-impenetrable.
  • Assault Company: In close combat, they exhibit a zealous ferocity, inspired by the Black Templars. They favor chainswords and power weapons and frequently deploy in aggressive shock assaults to shatter enemy morale. This is often coupled with their Iron Warriors-inspired siege tactics to maximize impact.
  • Recon Company: They possess a shadowy and secretive side, inspired by the Dark Angels. The Redeemers are masters of psychological warfare and interrogation, using covert operations and misdirection to manipulate the battlefield to their advantage. They also harbor secrets, carefully maintaining their own mysteries and past dealings from prying eyes.
  • Shadow Company: Their Raven Guard heritage grants them expertise in stealth and guerrilla warfare. The Chapter often deploys ahead of its main force, striking from the shadows, using their skills in infiltration and sabotage to sow confusion and disarray among their enemies.
