Every captain leaves a wake behind them.
Long before the black flag of the Dreadstar Pirates flew across the lawless systems of the ‘verse, their founder built Blackstone Mercenary Corps into one of the most respected private military organizations operating in known space. Blackstone earned its reputation through professionalism, discipline, and an unwavering commitment to its people. From convoy escorts and security operations to large-scale combat deployments, its members forged a legacy built on trust, skill, and honor.
As the organization grew, so too did its leadership. Blackstone became more than one person’s vision—it became a community of capable leaders who shared the same values and commitment to excellence.
When the time came to pursue a new path, the founder made a decision that reflected those very principles.
Rather than dissolve Blackstone or leave it behind, leadership was entrusted to seasoned officers who had helped build its reputation from the beginning. Under their command, Blackstone Mercenary Corps continues to operate today, carrying forward its traditions of professionalism, integrity, and military excellence while writing the next chapter of its own story.
With Blackstone in capable hands, the founder turned toward a different horizon.
Beyond the security of UEE space lies a frontier where laws are few, fortunes are won and lost overnight, and survival belongs to those bold enough to seize it. It was there, in the untamed reaches of Pyro and beyond, that a new vision took shape.

Thus, The Dreadstar Pirates were born.
Built upon the lessons learned through years of military leadership, the Dreadstar Pirates are anything but disorganized. They are a disciplined brotherhood of pilots, marines, engineers, smugglers, salvagers, and raiders who understand that successful piracy is built on planning, teamwork, and absolute trust in the crew beside you.
They answer to no government, no corporation, and no employer. Every operation is undertaken by choice. Every victory belongs to the crew. Every member earns their place through loyalty, skill, and the willingness to stand beside their brothers and sisters when the odds turn against them.
While the black flag represents freedom, the spirit of Blackstone still lives within the organization. Respect for the chain of command, professionalism during operations, and unwavering loyalty to one another remain at the heart of everything they do. The mission has changed, but the values have endured.

The stars were never meant to belong to governments.
They were never meant to be owned by corporations.
They were never meant to be divided by borders drawn on maps from worlds most will never see.
The frontier belongs to those willing to claim it.
We are The Dreadstar Pirates.
We were not created by rebellion.
We were created by choice.
Some among us once served governments. Others protected corporations. Many made their living as soldiers, traders, explorers, or mercenaries. Those experiences forged us into professionals—but they did not define who we would become.
We chose freedom over obligation.
We chose brotherhood over contracts.

We do not sail the stars because we reject civilization.
We sail because no one should decide where another may travel, what they may pursue, or how they choose to live.

The Dreadstar Pirates are a community built on teamwork, maturity, and a shared passion for Star Citizen. While we embrace the role of pirates in the ‘verse, we value professionalism and respect above all else. Our reputation is earned through our actions, not our words.
Article I – Our Purpose
The Dreadstar Pirates exist to provide an organized and enjoyable environment for players who wish to experience piracy, privateering, smuggling, salvage, and lawless adventures within Star Citizen.
We seek challenging gameplay, memorable stories, and lasting friendships while respecting both the game and its community.
Article II – Brotherhood Before Loot
The crew is our greatest asset.
No amount of credits or loot is worth sacrificing a fellow pirate.
Members are expected to:
Support fellow crew members.
Share in both success and failure.
Help new members learn and improve.
Put the success of the crew above personal gain.
Article III – Respect
Respect is mandatory.
Members will treat fellow pirates, allies, and opponents with maturity.
We do not tolerate:
Harassment
Hate speech
Discrimination
Personal attacks
Excessive toxicity
Victory is satisfying.
Respect makes it meaningful.
Article IV – Professional Piracy
Piracy is more than opening fire.
Members are expected to:
Communicate clearly.
Follow operational plans.
Honor negotiations when agreements are reached.
Know when to fight and when to disengage.
Represent the organization with professionalism.
Our goal is to become known as skilled pirates—not griefers.
Article V – Leadership
Leadership exists to serve the organization.
Command is earned through:
Experience
Reliability
Good judgment
Teamwork
Trust
Every leader is expected to mentor those beneath them and lead by example.
Article VI – Loyalty
Members are free to belong to other organizations unless operations create a conflict of interest.
However, while flying under the Dreadstar banner:
The crew comes first.
Operational information, plans, and internal discussions remain within the organization.
Trust is our greatest currency.
Article VII – No Griefing
The Dreadstar Pirates distinguish piracy from harassment.
We do not support:
Spawn camping
Pad ramming
Stream sniping
Exploiting bugs
Targeting players solely to ruin their experience
Violating Cloud Imperium Games’ Terms of Service
We seek meaningful encounters, not empty victories.
Article VIII – Every Member Matters
Rank represents responsibility—not superiority.
Every member has the opportunity to:
