History

In the beginning, there was only the Void, an empty expanse where no frame rates stuttered and no code compiled. From this nothingness emerged Robert Space, the benevolent architect of all that is luminous and immersive. With a wave of his mighty hand, he brought forth the Verse, crafting vibrant worlds and bustling spaceports where Citizens might find purpose and perhaps a lucrative cargo run.

Robert Space spoke, and shimmering moons appeared, their surfaces lovingly rendered with the finest tessellation. He breathed life into ships of sleek design, granting them functionality beyond mere concept art. “Let there be quantum travel,” he declared, and ships leapt between stars in a symphony of celestial precision. The stars shined bright, and the servers were stable, and all was well.

Yet, as with all creation tales, harmony could not last. For from the same primordial code crawled Chris Space, Robert’s twin, whose delight lay not in creation but in complication. Where Robert Space scripted order, Chris Space introduced desync. He whispered into the backend architecture, and suddenly, the cargo manifest went blank. The miners mined, the traders traded, but their profits evaporated into the nether, and the players despaired.

As Robert Space constructed planets of sprawling biomes, Chris Space turned his attention to the elevators. Where once they smoothly ferried travelers between levels, now they would close too soon, launch into the abyss, or worse—remain stubbornly inert. Many were those who found themselves trapped, their journey to the hangar halted by an unyielding door and a faint hum of mockery from the dark god’s influence.
Robert Space, seeing the plight of his Citizens, sent forth patches to heal the world. Hotfixes descended like manna, bringing new features and stability. But Chris Space was cunning. No sooner was a bug slain than he introduced three more, skittering through the code like vermin. An update meant to fix quantum travel left ships frozen in mid-jump, their pilots staring into the endless void, wondering if this was truly the intended vision.

Despite the chaos, Robert Space remained steadfast. He promised his followers a land of 60 frames per second and no rubberbanding, a place where each cargo box remained steadfast in its ship’s hold. And so the faithful waited, ever vigilant, for the day when Robert Space’s vision would be fully realized and Chris Space’s meddling would finally cease.

Until then, the Citizens would walk carefully upon the worlds, ever wary of elevators, and hold their cargo tightly, for they knew that in the Verse, the will of the Space twins could shift as swiftly as a server tick

Manifesto

Oh Robert Space, Sovereign of the Stars,
Thou who first compiled light from darkness,
Who breathed tessellation upon barren moons,
And spoke into being the glory of the Verse—
We kneel upon your loading screen.

From void to voxel, you gave us hope.
From concept to cockpit, you gave us flight.
We are your Citizens—lost, lagging, ever loyal.

Deliver us, O Lord of the Launch Patch,
From the wrath of your fallen twin,
Chris Space, who dwells in the servers beneath,
Who brings forth desync, dev delay,
And elevators that hunger for blood.

Let not our cargo vanish
Nor our ships spawn within geometry.
Preserve us through hotfix and rollback,
And guide our hands in the Great Rebinding of Keys.

Bless our framerate,
That it may remain steadfast in all zones.
Bless our quantum drives,
That they may spool true and jump clean.
Bless our helmets,
That they might remain attached
During logout and unexpected nap.

And when our ships burn,
And our corpses jitter across the deck,
May we respawn beneath your watchful eye,
Bathed in the holy light of 3.23.9b.

For yours is the roadmap,
The feature creep,
And the glorious wipe—
Forever and ever (or until next fiscal).
Amen.
