“Tell Me and I Forget; Teach Me and I May Remember; Involve Me and I Learn”
Star Citizen University (SCUni) has several goals:
1. Provide an environment for the healthy growth of all players
2. Provide lasting memories through fleet operations and friendships
3. Develop effective tools for the training of personnel in all areas of the game
4. Create effective leaders for the in game and real world communities
5. Provide an environment free from derogatory and demeaning conversation
6. To help all we come in contact with enjoy the game
These goals will be met by the trust, understanding, and helpfulness of all individuals involved in the University. If you are looking for a place to share your knowledge, lead people to fun and exciting content, learn about the game from well researched and experienced players, or just to hang out while you learn the ropes, SCUni is the place for you.
We understand that this rule sounds a little frustrating for some, but SCUNI is a place where all members should feel welcomed and safe while playing the game. Some of our members may have children in the room with them, and some of our members may be children themselves, and some just may not prefer the harsh language. We need to be the example of what makes Star Citizen great, not the example that labels us as a bad influence.
-Profanity includes:
◘Excessive cursing
◘Racial Slurs
◘Sexist Language
◘Religious Slander
◘All Other Forms of Commonly Acknowledged Offensive Language
*Some fleet commanders may allow mild profanity in voice and fleet comms at their own discretion. Mild profanity is defined by the allowance of what would normally fall under the definition of “excessive cursing.” All other forms of profanity (i.e. Racial Slurs, Sexism, Religious Slander) are still off limits in these instances. Fleet commanders allowing mild profanity are obligated to inform fleet members of the temporary rule abatement.
-Although an important part of real life, these topics are highly divisive and controversial in in-game communities. We are a team, and divisive topics have no place in an effective team environment.
*If you would like to discuss religious or political topics, please take all involved parties into a more private chat setting.
-SCUni intends to grow into a large and respectable organization. Any University Members caught disrespecting other players, be they comrades or members of another organization, will be reprimanded accordingly.
-Any intentional breaches of these agreements will lead to your termination and a report to the moderation team at Robert Space Industries.
-Games can get addicting, but do not let the game destroy real life commitments. Good players have a healthy home and work life. This is true for everyone, from executives and managers to the newest member. You can’t enjoy your virtual life without having your real life intact.
-The whole purpose of Star Citizen and SCUni is to provide fun and exciting content to the players. HAVE FUN!
