Perched delicately within Orison’s floating platforms, The Watering Hole isn’t just a bar—it’s a sanctuary of harmony between humanity and the serene beauty of the Stanton skies. Established in 2872, not long after Orison’s initial expansion, this iconic gathering place was envisioned as more than a spot for relaxation; it was a celebration of Crusader’s vision for sustainable living and unity with nature.
Designed by renowned eco-architect Nalina Esher, The Watering Hole integrates seamlessly with Orison’s cloudscape. The structure itself seems to float, with living walls of flora that draw from the planet’s hydroponic systems. Sunlight filters gently through translucent solar canopies, creating a soft, golden glow that changes with Stanton’s skies. The centerpiece of the bar is a bio-sculpted tree, grown to intertwine with the ceiling, its branches adorned with bioluminescent flowers that bloom as dusk falls.
The philosophy of natural alignment drives everything at The Watering Hole. Its locally sourced drinks, like the “Harmonic Drift,” use Crusader-grown botanicals, while the water is reclaimed and purified using Orison’s advanced systems. Patrons sip their cocktails while sitting on furniture crafted from reclaimed ship hulls, smoothed to a soft luster and accented with inlays of native moss.
But it’s not just the bar’s design that embodies this ethos—it’s the experience. Unlike the bustling nightlife of larger stations, The Watering Hole offers an almost meditative escape.
