A PMC focused on lawful bounty hunting, security, and supporting the UEE and local militias in defending against foreign and domestic threats.
The Burning Angels are a PMC (private military contractor) formed in 2951 by retired members of the UEE military who wished to continue serving the cause of those who live in the UEE, albeit in a less regimented fashion, and with significantly more freedom over how they operated. They were initially formed in response to the continued incursion of the XenoThreat terrorist group into the Stanton system, and continued operations in conjunction with the CDF and the UEE against XenoThreat and other pirate organizations, such as the Nine Tails. They have also been linked to operations that have exposed corruption among UEE and corporate officials.
The name and chosen organizational tag (SERAPHINE) are derived from the old-Terran Hebrew word seraphim, meaning “burning ones”. Seraphim, in Abrahamic lore, were the fiery angels sent by Yahweh; messengers and warriors from on high. Some interpretations of the word lead it to mean “fiery winged serpent”, so the icon of the group, as well as its mascot, are winged, fiery serpents – also known as dragons.
Freedom first, security second, evil…dead last.
