Hello, and welcome to SFH, the Space Fish Hobbyist! We are a group of enthusiasts from all corners of the UEE who are interested in collecting and trading exotic fish from all across the galaxy. Got a fish tank in your hanger? Planning on keeping it well stocked? Then come on in and join us!

History

Ichthyology, the study of fishes, goes way back into early human history. Fish on planet Earth were once a very important source of food for the ancients, and knowledge of what could be eaten, where they could be found, etc., was vital. Over time, humans came to appreciate some fish for their ornamental value over their culinary one. Thus was birthed an offshoot of this study, the hobby of tropical and saltwater fish collecting.

When we finally reached for the stars, imagine the astonishment of the first ichthyologists to discover water dwelling creatures on new planets with a resemblance to the fishes of Earth! Almost as soon as interstellar trade was established, curators and scientists began seeking out new aquatic life forms to study, catalog, and collect. Today of course it is a common sight to see an aquarium set up in a well traveled citizen’s hanger, as a memento of his or her travels, as a conversation piece on the more exotic catches, as a source of status and pride to own hard to find or beautiful fish from the far corners of space.

If you wish to talk about your hard won collection, investigate other citizens’ “living trophies”, buy, sell, or trade fish, SFH is a home for you.

Manifesto

Our motives are pretty simple. We aim to connect people who enjoy collecting exotic fish from far off locations with people who have the same interest! We also welcome any explorers and traders who may not collect fish themselves, but have access to interesting and rare fish they might wish to sell to or trade with ichthyophiles.

Charter

You should probably own a fish tank in your hanger. If it didn’t come with one, you can pick up a basic Mark I over at the Voyager Direct store. But even if you don’t, if you’re interested in selling or trading fish to collectors as part of your business, feel free to join us to make contacts!
