We hold as sacred the principle that trade should know no barriers. All other political goals may be valid, but trade should exist outside of those political pursuits. The restriction of trade is the restriction of the most basic right, the right to exchange what you don’t need or want for what you do need or want, the right to self-preservation and the pursuit of happiness. There is no ideal more sacred to us than these, and we hold them sacrosanct. Where trade is permitted, we do so lawfully. Where trade is prohibited, we recognize no law that makes it so.

Trade is different from profit, though we respect and pursue profit as well. We seek to make all trade mutually beneficial. Large margins are never required. We seek only the agreement of all parties involved, and reject the involvement of parties who wish to pursue a goal other than trade.

Anyone who stands in the way of trade is an enemy to freedom and must be dealt with as such. Our dedication to the principle of free trade is militant. As all rights that have come before or after trade, it must be secured through force when necessary. Diplomacy is preferred, but not required.

We hereby establish, among these men women of like minds and interests, this corporation, Shapier Industries Incorporated, and hereby dedicate ourselves to the pursuit of freedom. Let it be known to all people that we recognize free trade as the most powerful of all rights, for at its most basic state it allows for the exchange of labor for food, shelter, water, and the other essentials to survive. Without free trade, there can be no pursuit of happiness or self-preservation. There can be no freedom or liberty. There can only be tyranny, and tyranny we will not abide. On this day, and from this day forth, let this galaxy know we are here, that trade will prevail, and that freedom has teeth.
