• June 6th, 2955 – After losing at a card game Heydan Seegil becomes the temporary Mayor to the budding city of Shepherd’s Rest and is shortly thereafter vested with the duty of conducting a local census of the population as well as organizing the local government. Elections for a permeant Mayor along with other city officials are scheduled and the basic political infrastructure of the township is laid out.
• July 29th, 2955 – Terra Star Initiative signs an agreement to provide forces to assist with local security after Mayor Heydan Seegil wins their annual boxing match tournament securing Shepherd’s Rest first diplomatic alliance.
• August 8th, 2955 – Shepherd’s Rest agrees to assist Avalon Initiative in their planned expedition to survey the Pyro system in exchange for trade and security services.
• November 6th, 2955 – Avalon Initiative reneged on their agreement to assist Shepherd’s Rest in exchange for assisting with their planned Pyro expedition issuing demands to allow them to control who is allowed to join Shepherd’s Rest or visit the Outpost. In response Mayor Heydan Seegil had this to say, “Alright, well you knew we are based in Pyro, so this is on you. We do not discriminate and anyone who wants to see Shepherd’s Rest grow is allowed to join or visit. We will not allow you to control our administrative works usurping the fundamental liberties of the people by turning Shepherd’s Rest into your puppet in Pyro. We are not corporate slaves in Staton. Our freedom is not up for negotiation.”
• November 13th, 2955 – Shepherd’s Rest cuts ties with RPNet after receiving an antisemitic and racist rant from their leadership. Shepherd’s Rest has remained open to members of RPNet who do not engage or support such rhetoric despite being continually threatened and harassed by them. “We are an open community who does not discriminate against anyone. We do not care who your friends are. It is not the place of our government to dictate, bully, and try to force people to maintain friendships with only the people we approve of. Everyone has the right to friendship as well as the right to live somewhere free of antisemitism, racism and hate.”, commented Mayor Heydan Seegil.
• November 18th, 2955 – Having heard of the persecution the residents of Shepherd’s Rest have been going through for maintaining their sovereignty both Syndicate Squadron and Blightviel have pledge their support in an alliance with Shepherd’s Rest.
