We live in the shadows cast by those who stand tallest in the brightest lights of the ‘verse. We thrive in the umbral world of vice and desire. We embrace the darkness and use it forge our path to power. Like so many others, we reach for the stars… but we fear not the void between them.
Sinful Needs grew in the shadows of the most civilized places in the ‘verse, embracing the dark side… the seedy underbelly of cultures across the stars. We live in the endless, grey void between right and wrong, thriving on the trade of goods and services from planets that embrace a commodity to those worlds that call it abomination… but crave it all the same.
Decades have passed since the Architect took his first crew of Sinners out of the shadows of a small, irrelevant world in the backwaters and into the void. Many have joined the undertaking since those days, until the threads of ships and contacts have grown into a web that stretches across the star lanes. Through lean times and plenty, the dark hungers of society never abate. Our business is gluttony, excess, and deviance. And business is, indeed, good.
Now the syndicate hides in plain sight, donning the mask of tourism and travel; the face of import and export; the guise of astro-archaeology and exploration. We spin new webs across the ‘verse, looking for new delights to feed new hungers in old places… and new places with fresh needs for the oldest vices. As long as the stars shine, there will be shadows… and the Sinful will always have Needs.
Where ever there is want and need, we provide. Where there is condemnation and criticism of those wants and needs, we thrive. We roam the ‘verse threading our web ever wider, cataloging and collecting delights and treasures of all sorts, so that we can deliver them to those who can pay. We deal in the commodities that others ignore. We embrace what others belittle. We subsist in the voluminous tiny wants and needs of the downtrodden and the poor, just as we do in the exorbitant excesses of the mega-corp or celebrity.
Where there is a Need, we fulfill it.
#1: Always be polite and respectful in your OOC attitude. Your IC character may be a real piece of work… interacting with others in all manner of uncivilized and hostile manners, but make the effort to get along with folks in an OOC manner. There’s just no point is being rude for rude’s sake.
#2: Mind the game’s ToS. We’re an IC Organization that thrives on slipping the rules and double dealing, but we all love the ‘verse and enjoy the game. Don’t be stupid and get yourself into trouble of IRL variety with the people who run it.
#3: Clearly our lore implies we are willing to indulge in the dirtiest of business and provide the most filthy of commodities. Leave the worst of the worst unnamed, however. This comes right back to rule #2: stay away from the kind of IC content that will put your shiny backside in a sling. If in doubt, ask before you indulge. let’s not wallow in the kind of deviance and kink that will earn you a place on a watchlist somewhere.
