Space Moochers follow the one basic tenet: “It is not necessary to run at full speed everywhere like an over-caffeinated toddler full of sugar”.

From the common UK definition of Mooch: An aimless stroll, one who mooches; a moocher.

Run whenever necessary but have a nice stroll when you can :)

History

And lo! The Great Founding Father Roberts did bring forth the Scroll Wheel and say “So, like, in other games you can mostly either walk painfully slowly or run full pelt like a daftie, so how about offering a range of pace that may be decided upon by the player?”

And the unfaithful did look on and say “Nah, if I was in space I’d sprint everywhere, keep constantly jumping and push all the buttons like a real astronaut.”

But those who saw the true power of the mighty Scroll Wheel thought unto themselves “Hmm, it’s quite a big universe we’ve got here and taking a wee stroll and looking around is really rather pleasant. I shall do that whenever it takes my fancy.”

And thus, the loose and crumbly foundations of the Space Moochers was formed and the humans of the ‘verse did occasionally walk through the corridors of the cities and space stations…

Although they did still enjoy bunny hopping in low gravity because it was fun too.

And if it was dangerous they definitely made a sprint for it. They were Space Moochers, not idiots.

And the Great Founding Father Roberts did look upon the Space Moochers, with their adept use of sometimes having a stroll and then running if they felt like it, and did say unto them “Well, yeah. That’s kind of the point. You can do whatever you want. Do you really think you need to set up a religious organisation for this?”

And the Space Moochers did ponder this conundrum and say “Maybe.”

Manifesto

All Space Moochers Do Hereby Swear To Adhere To The Following Rules:

1. Take a stroll. It’s nice.

2. Eat lots of fruit. Space Scurvy is a serious issue that shouldn’t be taken lightly.

3. If anyone asks you why you are strolling around, tell them it’s the basic tenet of your Faith and why do they feel it necessary to question your religious practices.

4. If you hear someone muttering about how you’re “Role Playing hard” or “Acting like an NPC”, politely ask them if they are currently role playing as an over-caffeinated toddler who has eaten a bag of sugar.

5. Remember that, with the exception of The Basic Tenet, all other manifesto points are optional. Including this one.
