Squadron Twelve is an organization dedicated to exploring and executing peace in the UEE and its protectorate territories. While aggressive security is our focus, we will participate in all aspects of gameplay while promoting fun for both casual and serious players. We also seek active alliances.
BEGINNINGS
After being orphaned during the fall of Caliban in 2871 and subsequently losing his family in the Waltzer Massacre of 2935, advanced colony-hab engineer and future founder of this company, Rendar, decided it was time to better protect the regular citizens of the UEE.
VALUES
Surviving both tragedies, Rendar quickly garnered media attention and used his newfound fame to highlight the increasing lack of security for citizens. Despite widespread acknowledgment, he realized the issue had been festering for years and had become politically complex, making it nearly impossible to resolve.
PURPOSE
Rendar discovered that local government security forces were severely underfunded, outnumbered, and outmatched. The UEE Navy was stretched thin by the threat of xeno-incursions and rising organized crime factions. Although well-funded corporate security divisions thrived, they focused on securing lucrative new territories instead of developed space. Private security companies emerged to fill the gap left by government and corporate entities, but their services were only affordable to wealthy corporations, aimed at protecting corporate assets.
RESOLVE
Angered and isolated, Rendar devised a long-term plan to address this issue independently. He spent several years becoming an accomplished soldier and fighter pilot in the UEE Navy aboard the Frigate ‘Stanton’ with the 87th Battle Group. Upon retiring from the Navy in 2944, Rendar lobbied community-oriented organizations for funding to start a ‘public security company’. Although he secured limited success, he raised enough money to purchase an old ex-Navy Avenger Titan, which became the first ship in his fleet dedicated to securing peace for UEE citizens.
REUNION
Around this time, Rendar was reunited with his son, Halstrom, who was thought to have perished in the Waltzer Massacre. Unknown to Rendar, Halstrom had been injured in a grenade explosion but was evacuated by UEE Navy defenders. While Halstrom recovered from most wounds, he suffered amnesia for years. Without memories of his past, he clung to gratitude towards his UEE Navy saviors and joined their ranks, becoming an accomplished pilot and spec-ops soldier.
FATE
In early 2945, Halstrom was injured again on a classified mission. During his recovery, his memories resurfaced, and he reconnected with Rendar. Taking extended leave, Halstrom supported Rendar’s privateer venture. Despite their efforts, they struggled to build beyond Rendar’s vision, and Halstrom eventually returned to Navy service in September.
STRIFE
On November 10, 2945, the Vanduul War erupted, changing everything. Investors who had previously ignored Rendar now sought his help to cover security gaps due to the war. Squadron Twelve was formally founded and began operations.
BREAKTHROUGH
With the war raging and a high demand for security companies, Squadron Twelve balanced protecting citizens under small government contracts and selective corporate contracts for growth. The release of the hit movie Lost Squad in 2946, set during the fall of Calliban, boosted Squadron Twelve’s credibility. Fresh investments followed, and the organization flourished.
RETURN
In 2947, Halstrom completed his third tour of duty. His heavily redacted official records suggest most of his time was spent in a special warfare unit, which disbanded upon his departure. Halstrom returned to assist Rendar in managing the growing security company.
VILIFICATION
In February 2948, media outlets began questioning Squadron Twelve’s power. Parker Terell of the Plain Truth highlighted its rapid growth, making it larger than rival security companies and more powerful than most law enforcement agencies. Rumors of an Imperial commission investigating corrupt sponsorships and internal suspicions of a political plot emerged.
FALL
In early 2949, amid rumors of impending orders from the Imperial government, Squadron Twelve agreed to assist the UEE Navy on the front lines. By April, all contracts were on hold, and personnel were deployed to a classified system as part of a UEE Navy special detachment force. By November, 96% of Squadron Twelve was decimated, and the company was released from service. Rendar was killed in action, and Halstrom was returned to a UEE Navy facility, where he spent 12 months in a medically induced coma. All records of Squadron Twelve’s activities with the UEE Navy were destroyed or sealed.
REBIRTH
With leadership gone and few personnel remaining, Squadron Twelve was placed into administration. Halstrom, recovering from his injuries, resumed his position and aimed to rebuild the company according to his father’s original vision. While many questions remain, the impact of Squadron Twelve on the UEE has never been in doubt. The future direction of Squadron Twelve now hangs in the balance.
While still in Alpha testing, our manifesto is simply to:
1/. Build a fun, supportive, and resilient organisation
2/. Test, learn and understand the mechanics required for success on live release
3/. To enjoy the game with each other, whatever state it is in
The following is our manifesto for the live, full release of Star Citizen
1. Affordable Security for All
Squadron Twelve aims to deliver top-notch, affordable security to average citizens and small businesses. Every private citizen in civilized systems deserves to live without fear and with adequate protection. Squadron Twelve’s SECURITY BRANCH is committed to developing a modern, comprehensive security force and working in partnership with governments, officials, and local leaders to ensure the security of the UEE.
2. Growth
Squadron Twelve’s primary mission to enhance UEE security necessitates a sustainable and viable business model for growth. While our Security Branch concentrates on enhancing and offering paid security services for UEE citizens, we also provide premium services to private benefactors, which fuels our continued expansion. These activities are diverse, and, occasionally, Squadron Twelve’s COVERT BRANCH may assist its benefactors and members in ‘unconventional’ endeavors.
The Covert Branch draws individuals from a variety of skill sets, often mirroring those found in the Security Branch. However, what sets our Covert Branch members apart is their readiness to undertake missions from a broader spectrum of clients, including those with less reputable backgrounds:
3. Industry & Future Tech
Drawing lessons from past tragedies, our company leadership emphasizes the continuous evolution of Squadron Twelve’s strength and flexibility. A crucial aspect of our long-term vision is the establishment of secure colonies and industrial operations. These locations allow friends and allies to settle and operate away from the dangers of developed space. Additionally, they serve as hubs for researching, developing, and manufacturing the tools needed to execute peace. Squadron Twelve’s INDUSTRIAL BRANCH will strive to discover and develop innovations, source the materials required to evolve, and manufacture the tools to secure the UEE’s future.
4. Exploration
The universe is a vast trove of wonders, full of lost and undiscovered treasures capable of supporting and propelling our plans forward. In our quest to unlock the universe’s secrets, exploration has become a core pillar of our vision. Squadron Twelve’s EXPEDITION BRANCH is passionately committed to the adventure of discovery. By providing top-tier exploration services, for ourselves and our clients, we continuously expand our knowledge and hone our skills. This relentless pursuit of exploration not only enriches our capabilities but also propels us toward our ultimate goal of independently reaching for the stars and beyond.
Exploring the unknown requires a diverse array of individuals with various skills. Beyond a willingness to journey into uncharted territories, sometimes the expertise needed to locate and discover people, places and things is essential:
NOTE: Members are eligible to join any or all of Squadron Twelve’s branches, provided they meet the reputational standards set by the common clients of those branches.
Charter
Squadron Twelve is hereby charted to execute any an all operations required in the pursuit of goals outlined in our manifesto, specifically to:
A. Offer affordable security to all public UEE citizens
B. Support our company growth and subsidise other goals through paid premium services to non-public organizations. Whilst illegal and illicit activity is not encouraged, staff and members will be supported if these activities are required for exceptional reasons.
