Possunt quia posse videntur
Squadron 19 can trace its lineage back to the earliest days of Human air combat in the form of No. 19 Squadron RFC of the British Royal Flying Corps, a unit which saw action across the Western Font of Earth’s First World War, before being redesignated as No. 19 Squadron RAF, part of the newly formed Royal Air Force – receiving the honour of being the first Squadron to be equipped with the legendary Supermarine Spitfire.
No. 19 Squadron RAF saw extensive action throughout Earth’s Second World War, in campaigns such as the Battle of Britain, France, The Netherlands and Germany, and again in the Second Korean War and Caucasus Conflict of the early 21st Century.
The Squadron continued to operate in both the Fighter and Reserve roles, finally becoming No. 19 Squadron of the Royal Aerospace Command before the creation of the United Nations of Earth in the 2380s, after which the Squadron was amalgamated with No. 19 Squadron of the South African Space Force, the 19th Starighter Squadron of the US Air Force Space Command, the 19th Guards Starighter Aviation Regiment of the Russian Star Force and the 19th Star Regiment of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Star Force – becoming Squadron 19 of the United Nations of Earth Space Command – maintaining its links with the earliest formed Royal Flying Corps Squadron through the continued use of the motto ‘Possunt quia posse videntur’ – They can because they think they can.
