History

2952 – The Phantom Foundation goes public and begins open recruitment drive.

2951 – Significant effort is placed in securing base of operations. The Phantom Foundation has several conflicts with other PMC groups before alliances were forged.

2950 – “The Shinsengumi Roughnecks” is rebranded as a PMC known as the Phantom Foundation ; initial contract work provides capital for fleet improvements. Additional funding provided by undisclosed UEE back channel sources.

2949 – Surviving members of Roughnecks are re-activated. Undisclosed investments help fund the establishment of a PMC.

2946 ~ 2948 – “The Period of Black Rain”: Roughnecks suffer heavy loses, decimating the covert squadron. Only three squadron members survive.

2945 – The Roughnecks participate in front line espionage and disruption missions during the early months of the Vanduul War.

2944-03-18 16:15:37 // Daigoji takes leadership of The Shinsengumi. The Shinsengumi Roughnecks Battle Squadron is established to engage in covert activities to address incursions on the frontier. These incursions are later proven to be early Vanduul raids.

We do not view the Shinsengumi of history as a murder squad. They were an assortment of skilled tacticians from a variety of disciplines that assembled to uphold a code. Today, with the rise of organized crime and cutthroat freelancers, we serve as protectors and executioners.

The Kyokuchu Hatto Historically

The Shinsengumi never had a set of rules per say, but instead a set of regulations that all members were asked to accept. These regulations (Kyokuchu Hatto) were originally established to purge Serizawa’s Mito group historically. Today we still value the original Shinsengumi manifesto, and all members swear to abide by it to retain the strength of the corp’s union..
