History

Strategic Stellar Reconnaissance Management (SSRM) is a star citizen org that was established in 2947 by a group of bored explorers who wanted to spice up their lives with some espionage and sabotage. SSRM claims to be a professional intelligence agency that offers services such as scouting, infiltration, hacking, sabotage, assassination, and blackmail to anyone who can afford their fees. However, most of their missions end up being hilarious failures due to their lack of skills, experience, and common sense.

For example, in 2948 they were hired by a rival org to infiltrate and sabotage a mining operation on Yela. They managed to sneak into the base using fake IDs and uniforms, but instead of planting explosives or hacking the computers, they decided to steal some ore samples and sell them on the black market. Unfortunately for them, they did not realize that the ore samples were radioactive and had tracking devices embedded in them. They were quickly traced by security forces and arrested.

Another time, in 2949 they were hired by a wealthy businessman to assassinate his competitor who was attending a gala on ArcCorp. They planned to use a sniper rifle from a nearby rooftop, but they forgot to bring any ammo for it. They improvised by using rocks and bottles as projectiles, but they only managed to attract attention and cause panic among the guests. The target escaped unharmed while SSRM had to flee from the police.

Despite their incompetence and bad reputation, SSRM still manages to find clients who are desperate or naive enough to hire them. They also have a loyal fan base who follow their exploits on Spectrum and enjoy their comedic antics. SSRM is always looking for new recruits who share their passion for adventure and chaos.

Manifesto

We are Strategic Stellar Reconnaissance Management (SSRM), and we are passionate about exploring the wonders of the cosmos! Our mission is to advance humanity’s knowledge and understanding of the stars and planets beyond our solar system. We use cutting-edge technology and innovative methods to observe, analyze and interpret the signals and phenomena that occur in the vastness of space. We believe that by studying the celestial bodies and their interactions, we can learn more about our own origins, destiny and place in the universe. We are driven by curiosity, creativity and collaboration, and we strive to share our findings and insights with the scientific community and the public. Join us as we embark on an exciting journey of discovery and adventure!

Charter

Attention all SSRM agents! As you know, our mission is to explore the galaxy and gather intelligence on any potential threats or opportunities for humanity. However, this does not mean that you can do whatever you want in the name of science. There are some rules that you must follow at all times, or else you will face severe consequences. Here they are:

- Do not engage in any hostile or provocative actions against any alien species, unless they attack you first or pose an imminent danger to your life or the mission. Remember, we are here to observe and learn, not to start interstellar wars.
- Do not reveal your identity or affiliation to any alien species, unless authorized by HQ. You are undercover agents, so act like it. Use fake names, disguises and cover stories if necessary. Do not wear your SSRM badge or uniform in public. And for the love of God, do not say “Take me to your leader” as a joke.
- Do not interfere with the natural development of any alien civilization, culture or ecosystem. This means no meddling with their politics, religion, history, technology or biology. No stealing their artifacts, resources or specimens. No introducing them to human concepts, products or diseases. And no mating with them either (yes, we know some of you have tried).
- Do not damage or destroy any alien property or infrastructure without a valid reason. This includes their ships, stations, planets and stars. If you accidentally cause any harm or inconvenience to them (such as crashing into their buildings), apologize sincerely and offer compensation if possible.
- Do not bring back any alien items or organisms to Earth without proper clearance and quarantine procedures. This is for your own safety and the safety of everyone else on the planet. You never know what kind of dangers these things might pose to us (such as exploding in your face). And no keeping them as souvenirs or pets either (yes, we know some of you have done that too).

These are the basic rules that you must follow as members of SSRM. If you break any of them intentionally or repeatedly (or even unintentionally but stupidly), you will be subject to disciplinary actions ranging from demotion and suspension to termination and imprisonment (or worse). So please behave yourselves out there and don’t make us regret hiring you.

Thank you for your cooperation and good luck on your missions!
