History
Recording of the interview of Zaïr Starlion by the Old York Times:
“So, mister Starlion, could you tell us a bit more about how your company came to life?
-The Starlion company started long ago on the family farm back on Earth, before relocating to Terra. Centuries have passed and now the company relies on its farms based on many planets as well as on the ones on board of its many Endeavors roaming in the ‘Verse. Zaïr Starlion is the official head of the company, and he runs it “Old school”, whatever that means… His children, Arthur, Bella, Connor, Damian and Elizabeth Starlion help him in various ways. Well, except Damian, who is too busy reaching the covers of magazines…
-Yes, appart from that last sentence, everything you just said can be read on your corporate brochures and sites… Could you give us something more?
-I shall not be forced to make statement that might contradict any of my previous or upcoming statement.
-You do realise this is an interview, not a trial…?
-I shall not be pushed into perjury.
-Great… So I won’t get anything new and crunchy from you?
-We grow great peanuts. Very crunchy. Do you want some? They are only a couple UEC a piece…”
Manifesto
Recording of the interview of Zaïr Starlion by the Old York Times:
“Could you tell us more about the values your family holds dear?
-Of course! Here is the pledge of the Starlion family: First…
-Yes, I know your pledge, everybody knows it, could you just tell me…
-I shall not be forced into perjury.
-Fine, fine… I am not getting a scoop anytime soon…
-I was saying:
1) Wherever we will be needed, we shall go. And we swear we will stay there until the crisis is resolved. Or until staying there is no longer profitable for us. Or until we can make more money elsewhere. Make your crisis worth our while, and we can stay a while.
2) We shall never look for fights, only for solutions to the ‘Verse’s issues. No, we did NOT blow those farming ships from other companies, it was proven to be mercenaries hired by an unknown megacorporation that clearly had interest in the market.
3) Our farms only produce the highest quality items. We guarantee fresh, great-tasting, amazing-looking food. That being said, we do not produce the packaging, so if you experience any issue after consuming some of our goods, we strongly suggest you to raise your complaint to our providers, not to us.
4) No, we do NOT bump the prices during humanitarian crises when we have no competition to boost our profit. That is fake news! We simply follow the rules of the market to keep our company afloat.
5) No, we do not hire smugglers. What our employees do on their free time cannot be made our company’s responsibility. And sure, there might have been some errors made while recruiting new employees, I mean, you’ve heard the story…
-I wrote the story.
-Oh, so you’re that little piece of sh…”
Charter
Recording of the interview of Zaïr Starlion by the Old York Times:
“Could you… I don’t know, tell me something that is not in your public communications already? Something no one knows yet? Help me do my job, please…
-I shall NOT…
-Yes, yes I know… Right… Are there any rules that your employees have to follow that sets your company appart from your competitors?
-Rules?
-Yes, like… Guidelines, lines not to cross, or stuff like that…
-Well I give my employees ships full of food, they have to bring them back full of money. That is the one rule that they shall all follow. Then… You know, safety, protect my ship of those shady guys that might be pirates or just competitors, and stuff like that. Shoot first, save the cargo, save the ship… Of course, no smuggling. Also you know, I can’t really have an eye on every ship of my fleet, and we do encourage individual initiative if it can turn out to be profitable. It’s very standard on the market really I think…”
