Welcome to the Sovereign Trade League, the galaxy’s first consultant trade network. If you want it, we can get it for you.

History

The Sovereign Trade League was founded in 2940 by Freighter Captain Jericho and his first mate Humli, who, before the formation of the League, scratched out a living as Freelance Traders never venturing beyond UEE space and taking whatever jobs presented themselves. Contempt with this somewhat monotonous lifestyle, their ambitions never took them further. Until at some point during the year 2939 an opportunity presented itself that changed everything. An independent world on the fringes of known space, far beyond the influence of the UEE, found itself besieged by Vandaal raiding fleets. They sent out a desperate plea over the spectrum for aid which even the major empires were forced to ignore for risk of sparking a full scale conflict with the Vandaal. The two shipmates, however, saw the potential profit behind this situation and came to a realisation: Credits would seem somewhat trivial when ones life is threatened and people will give almost anything when their backs are against a wall. So Jericho and Humli loaded their ship full of weapons, food and medical supplies and set out towards the maligned planet. After bypassing the Vandaal blockades and making landfall they were hailed as heroes by the inhabitants, who in their elation, showered them with credits. Upon their return to the life they had left behind, they realised its inherent triviality and set out to more exciting prospects. They departed for the fringe systems and surrounded themselves with like-minded individuals. There they formed the Sovereign Trade League, a syndicate based around the ideal that ‘desperation is the strongest motivation for generosity’.

Manifesto

The Sovereign Trade League regard ourselves as an unaffiliated consultant trade and smuggling network. We are essentially a freelance organisation able to be hired by anyone who has need of our trade services. This can include anything from a simple relocation of cargo from one place to another, to more delicate contracts such as having something discreetly moved off planet without the attention of the authorities. Our strict ‘No questions asked’ policy ensures discretion, so if a client would prefer themselves or their cargo to remain anonymous then that is entirely their prerogative. While our agenda stretches into illegal activities this is not to say that we don’t also accept legal contracts, our motto is ‘We haul anything’ and despite our criminal undertones, the Sovereign Trade League maintains a front of legitimacy.

As the adage goes: ‘If you’re a famous smuggler, you’re doing it wrong’.

Charter

  • While we do undertake technically illegal operations and assignments (predominantly smuggling) piracy is not one of our goals and will not be tolerated within our organisation.
  • We maintain a firm ‘No questions asked’ policy. If a client wishes their business to remain anonymous then it is not our place to intrude.
  • The adage ‘If you’re a famous smuggler, you’re doing it wrong’ should be treated as scripture within the STL. All possible means to avoid detection while undertaking illegal operations should be taken.
  • If caught undertaking an illegal act, all possible means should be taken to disavow any connection with the STL so as not to compromise the organisation.
