Shin-Byō Sūnyatā is a nomadic Sangha at the intersection of deep-space exploration and Zen practice. We recognize that the “Great Empty” and the “Emptiness” of the heart are one. We navigate the Gateless Gate to serve as a beacon of compassion for all travelers.
Sūnyatā Explorational was founded on the principle of Shin—the inseparable nature of Heart and Mind. In the early days of quantum travel, our founders realized that as the distance between stars grew, the distance between a pilot and their own center often fractured.
We established this nomadic Sangha to prove that exploration is not merely a physical journey across the Stanton system, but a meditative practice. Our history is not written in conquered territories, but in the steady application of the Four Immeasurables:
Today, we continue to drift as Unsui (Cloud-Water), mapping the Great Emptiness to better understand the vastness within ourselves.
In the vastness of the Verse, we recognize no separation between the vacuum of space and the emptiness of the heart. To the unawakened, the void is a place of fear; to the Sūnyatā Explorational Sangha, it is our Zendo—a place of infinite potential and profound clarity.
Our primary mission is the cultivation of Shin (Heart-Mind). We explore the outer reaches of the galaxy as a method of mapping our inner landscape. Every quantum jump is a moment of zazen; every discovery is an insight into the nature of reality.
We are bound to the Eightfold Path, not to the agendas of the UEE or Syndicate lords. We walk the Middle Way, remaining neutral in political conflicts unless the Four Immeasurables demand our intervention.
