We don’t stick to a single trade, we are not defined to a single way of life, and we do not pledge to a single alliance. We ARE the alliance babyyy! We recognize that the universe of Star Citizen offers countless opportunities, and that our strength lies in the different skills, perspectives, and opportunities of those who stand with us.

We value competency and love over arrogance, we provide loyalty without empty promises, and respect over intimidation. Those among our ranks will receive all we offer, and the ranks exist to provide direction and structure over “worthiness” of an individual. We’d be stupid to expect blind obedience, and we do not demand such. Our members are individuals first, united by the many flags of The Aurora Borealis. Community Charter & Code of Conduct

First and foremost, we are a team. Our tolerance for harm against this team in any shape or form is strictly punished and forbidden. Membership of this Organization is a privilege and regardless of rank or tenure, these rules and punishments of breaking these rules apply to you.

I. Respect & Harassment

All members of The Aurora Borealis regardless of race, ethnicity, nationality, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or personal background will be treated with respect less that background directly hurts / harms another member.
Discrimination, hate speech, or harassment under any circumstance is strictly prohibited, you will only be warned once. Disagreements are no excuse either.

II. Integrity & Fair Play

Cheating, exploiting game mechanics, malicious use of bugs, or deliberate sabotage are prohibited during and outside organized activities. Members shall not defraud or deliberately deceive players for personal gain.
It is a terrible look on yourself and the org as a whole. Trust and cooperation is earned and built, don’t tear it down.

III. Abuse of Authority & Influence

Leadership and rank shall never be used to intimidate, manipulate, exploit, or mistreat members. No member shall demand personal favors, money, services, etc in exchange for rank, items, opportunities, or favorable treatment.
Leadership exists for direction and group activities, you can only be removed for disobeying reasonable orders during an activity
All members are accountable for their conduct, regardless of position.

IV. Privacy & Confidentiality

Members shall respect the privacy of others. Publishing personal information, private messages, recordings, or other sensitive material is strictly prohibited. Doxxing, impersonation, malicious leaks, and attempts to compromise another person’s account will lead to removal and reporting to CIG.
Org information is explicitly designated as confidential and shall not be disclosed without authorization. This is excluded when players need to report misconduct, when the seek help, or raise legitmate concerns

V. Representation & Reputation

Members, whether ingame or in external communities, represent the org and therefore are expected to act responsibly. Members shall not impersonate org leadership or falsely claim authority to threaten, defraud, intimidate, or harass others.

VI. Accountability & Community Conduct

Members are encouraged to report misconduct to organisational leadership or an appropriate designated representative. Knowingly making malicious or fabricated reports may itself constitute misconduct. Good-faith reports shall not be punished simply because they cannot be substantiated.
Members are expected to communicate in good faith and contribute to a constructive community. Spam, disruptive behaviour, malicious misinformation, deliberate provocation, and repeated attempts to derail community activities may be subject to moderation.
Friendly banter is welcome where appropriate, but it must not become a justification for persistent hostility or abuse.

VII. Chapter Enforcement

Violations may result in a warning, removal from org events, restriction of rank, suspension, or expulsion from the org. No member is exempt from disciplinary action by virtue of rank or contribution to the org.
Punishment is entirely up to the discretion of leadership, with consideration for precedent of past punishments. Leadership is expected to apply these rules consistently, to act in the best interests of the org, to consider relevant variables.

IX. Final Note

We expect our members to treat others as they wish to be treated, this org is not a platform for abuse or exploitation.
Also just to filter out any bigots: We embrace and love LGBTQ+ people, people of colour, and individuals from all backgrounds. Hatred and prejudice have no place here. If you have a problem with someone simply for being who they are, this is not the organization for you. <3
