Our History — Forged Among the Stars
The Beginning — A Brotherhood Forged in the ‘Verse
The Companions were born from a simple belief: No Citizen should have to face the dangers of the ‘verse alone.
In the vast reaches of the United Empire of Earth (UEE), where opportunity and danger exist side by side, a small group of independent pilots found themselves united by circumstance.
They came from different backgrounds—explorers, traders, miners, soldiers, and ordinary Citizens seeking their place among the stars. Each had traveled their own path, but all shared a common understanding: survival was easier, victories were greater, and adventures were more meaningful when experienced together.
What began as an informal alliance of pilots soon grew into something greater.
They became The Companions.
The Early Years — Earning Our Place
During their early operations, The Companions traveled established trade routes and ventured into less-charted regions of the ‘verse.
They escorted vulnerable transports, assisted stranded pilots, surveyed distant locations, and defended one another against pirates and other threats.
Their reputation was not built through conquest, wealth, or political influence. It was earned through reliability, loyalty, and a willingness to stand beside those who needed assistance.
As their numbers grew, so did their capabilities. Mining crews provided resources, traders established supply routes, explorers discovered new opportunities, and combat pilots protected the organization and its allies.
Every role mattered. Every Citizen had a purpose.
From the beginning, The Companions chose to operate as a lawful organization, respecting the laws of the UEE while maintaining their independence.
We believe that strength comes not from intimidation, but from unity.
Our guiding principles became the foundation of the organization:
Loyalty: Stand beside fellow Companions through victory and adversity.
Honor: Act with integrity and earn the respect of others.
Unity: Work together regardless of rank, experience, or profession.
Freedom: Allow every member to pursue their own path among the stars.
Courage: Face challenges together and never willingly abandon a fellow Companion.
These principles continue to guide our actions throughout the ‘verse.
The Turning Point — Here We Stand
The defining moment in the organization’s history came during a routine expedition beyond the safety of established shipping lanes.
When a Companion vessel suffered a catastrophic systems failure, the remaining pilots faced a difficult decision. With limited supplies and reports of hostile activity nearby, abandoning the disabled ship would have been the safest course.
Instead, they stayed.
Mining vessels diverted their operations to provide resources. Transport pilots delivered emergency supplies. Combat crews established a defensive perimeter while engineers worked to restore the damaged vessel.
Against the odds, the entire expedition returned home.
No Companion was left behind.
From that day forward, the organization embraced the words that would become its enduring motto:
Hic stamus, hic manemus
“Here We Stand… Here We Remain!”
These words represent more than a promise. They define who we are.
A New Era — Building Our Future
As humanity continues to expand into the stars, The Companions continue to grow.
Our operations now span the many professions available throughout the ‘verse, from industrial activities and commercial ventures to exploration, security, and humanitarian assistance.
We are not an empire seeking territory, nor a military force seeking domination.
We are a community of Citizens who believe that the greatest achievements are those accomplished together.
Veterans and newcomers stand as equals, united by shared purpose rather than wealth, reputation, or the ships they command.
Every new member contributes to our story. Every expedition creates another chapter. Every challenge strengthens the bonds between us.
Our Legacy Is Still Being Written
The Companions were not founded to rule the stars.
We were founded to travel them together.
Our history is not measured by the number of enemies defeated, credits earned, or systems explored, but by the friendships forged, the challenges overcome, and the Citizens who stood beside one another when it mattered most.
The ‘verse is vast, and our journey has only begun.
We are explorers. We are traders. We are miners. We are defenders.

THE COMPANIONS
The Companions is a lawful, multi-role Star Citizen organization founded on the principles of friendship, teamwork, loyalty, and honor.
We believe the greatest adventures are not defined by the ships we fly, the credits we earn, or the battles we win, but by the people who stand beside us.
Together, we explore the unknown, undertake challenging missions, defend our fellow Citizens, and pursue opportunities throughout the ‘verse.
Adventure Without Limits
Whether engaging in intense combat operations, conducting profitable mining expeditions, establishing trade routes, or exploring distant worlds, every Companion has a role to play.
We encourage members to pursue their interests while supporting one another through cooperation, shared knowledge, and mutual respect.
Every profession has value. Every member matters. Every adventure is better together.

Our headquarters, outposts, and gathering places serve as more than operational bases. They are places where friendships grow, strategies are formed, stories are shared, and lasting bonds are built.
