The Guild of Unified Libation Professionals is a social guild with the idea that any good space adventure needs a place to kick back and unwind before during and after said adventure.

History
In late 2948 Mr. & Mrs. Akrasia made plans to organize the hospitality people of the galaxy into a cohesive unit to fight back against the corporate dominance of the UCC “regulated” establishment who put a stranglehold on regular people trying to make it in the verse as drunks and enablers of drunks. We’re talking good drunks who pass out and have the occasional bar fight, not the crappy drunks who ram their Caterpillar into their favorite bar and still expect to be served.
We fight the regulators who say you can only run a space bar on an 890 Jump or Starliner. While there’s nothing wrong with those ships, we want to also run space bars on Reclaimers, Merchantmen, Endeavors and of course on Krakens… or any other damn ship that has the capacity to hold a bar and a room full of patrons. We also want to make a profit but above all we want to have fun.
Manifesto
It seemed the bar owners, party starters and other er.. hospitality people have been pigeonholed by the UCC into the “transportation” industry. They run their fancy ships to shuttle people around and serve the occasional drink. The Mrs and I figured we’d start an organization that appealed to people who don’t want to have to transport anyone to serve a drink other than the occasional “patron” who needs to be tossed out on his or her ear for getting a little too rowdy. We are not against you traveling bartenders with your sleek 890 Jumps or corporate Starliners, but we want the people who know the drinks and parties come first. That’s the real power of the people. .Join The Gulp if you’re a Cantina owner who wants to have a fringe bar to conduct “business” or an information broker who understands that a bartender is better than a Herald for getting the right message to the right parties.
