History
In 2018, a group of friends who were passionate about vaporwave decided to open a lounge in the heart of their city. They wanted to create a space that would transport visitors back to the 80s and 90s, with an emphasis on the nostalgic aesthetic that was at the core of vaporwave culture.
The lounge was called “THEHANGOUT”, and it quickly became a hit among vaporwave fans in the area. The space was decorated with neon lights, vintage arcade games, and a variety of retro furnishings. The walls were adorned with posters featuring the artwork of prominent vaporwave artists, and the music playing in the background was a mix of classic vaporwave tracks and newer, lesser-known songs from up-and-coming artists.
In addition to its decor, THEHANGOUT was also known for its signature cocktails. Each drink was named after a vaporwave song or artist, and they were made with a variety of exotic ingredients that gave them a unique and refreshing taste.
As the lounge gained popularity, it began to attract visitors from all over the city and beyond. Article I – Purpose
THEHANGOUT is founded with the purpose of creating a unique and immersive environment that celebrates the aesthetic, music, and culture of vaporwave. Our lounge aims to provide a welcoming space for people to come together, socialize, and share their love of this genre.
Article II – Membership
Membership at THEHANGOUT is open to all individuals who share an interest in vaporwave culture. We welcome people from all backgrounds, beliefs, and identities to join our community.
Article III – Governance
THEHANGOUT is managed by a team of individuals who are committed to upholding our values and mission. Our leadership is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our lounge, promoting inclusivity and respect, and supporting emerging artists in the vaporwave community.
Article IV – Activities
At THEHANGOUT, we offer a variety of activities for our members and visitors, including music events, live performances, art exhibitions, and gaming. We also serve signature cocktails inspired by vaporwave music and culture.
Article V – Finances
THEHANGOUT is a self-sustaining organization that generates revenue through the sale of beverages, memberships, and event tickets. All funds generated by our lounge are reinvested in our community, including supporting emerging artists and improving our facilities.
Article VI – Amendments
This charter may be amended by a majority vote of our leadership team. Any proposed changes must be presented to our members at least two weeks in advance and must be approved by a majority vote.
Article VII – Dissolution
In the event that THEHANGOUT is dissolved, any remaining assets and funds will be donated to organizations that support emerging artists and promote inclusivity and respect in the arts community.
