/The Spectre Group: A Company History

Founded in 2925 by Thomas Blackwood, The Spectre Group (TSG) is headquartered in New Babbage. Blackwood’s service with the UEE, during a period of economic hardship and Vanduul threats, led him to believe the military was inadequately supporting its citizens. This inspired his vision for TSG: to offer innovative private contract support to both the United Earth Empire Navy (UEEN) and private enterprises across diverse sectors.

TSG quickly made its mark in 2926 by successfully opening new trading routes within UEE governed star systems. A key strategic move in 2927 saw Blackwood invest early in the Drake Cutlass ship line. This foresight allowed TSG to build a versatile, cost-effective fleet that became fundamental to all its operations, from mining to cargo transport. The fleet expanded steadily to meet growing demands.

Over the years, TSG earned a strong reputation for deploying reliable, highly skilled teams to aid the UEEN in various short-term engagements. In 2950, Thomas’s eldest son Michael joined the company as a junior executive. Michael brought valuable experience from four tours as a UEEN intelligence officer and a background in business and political science. He gained diverse operational skills at TSG, including piloting, commodity trading and team management.

Upon Thomas Blackwood’s retirement in 2954, Michael assumed the CEO role, continuing to lead TSG’s growth while his father remains on the executive board. Most recently, Laylah Blackwood joined the executive team as a Senior Executive, overseeing Human Resources and General Operations.
