Providing fast, safe, and reliable emergency medical transportation, pre-hospital care, and medical device transportation for Terra and surrounding systems. TLAS is also often on standby at both large and small scale events where trained emergency medical staff might be required.
The Terran Loop Ambulance Service was started by Dr. Tealia Gin (a medical doctor formerly of the UEE Medical Corp) in 2911, to fill the void in emergency service coverage left by the UEE Navy focusing on systems bordering Vanduul space. TLAS gained several key, and lucrative, contracts that saw the company expand rapidly. By the end of 2915 the company had already grown to include three ships, running two shifts a day out of the companies two stations.
In 2937 Dr. Gin retired, leaving the then four station, nine ship, and one hundred odd employee company to her only son Noden. Though the company’s growth had settled, it continued to offer outstanding care to it’s coverage area. That was, until the Historical Truth Act of 2941. Dr. Tealia Gin was suddenly inundated with medical malpractice lawsuits filed by opportunistic descendants of decades past patients. Though Dr. Gin had had insurance for such eventualities, as lawsuits are simply a fact of life for medical practitioners, the sheer number of suits across the galaxy stemming from the recently declassified data saw insurance companies claiming extenuating circumstances and washing their hands of the matter. This left Dr. Gin, her son Noden, and by extension the TLAS on the hook for her legal fees. The expense, as well as several contracts being terminated, drained TLAS. Though successfully defending herself against all but one of the suits (she was said to have willfully spoiled the clone stock of UEE Navy officer, a claim she continues to deny) the company the Gin family had worked to build over the past 35 years was all but gone. TLAS does, however, continue on, if only barely. With just their single remaining ship, the Terran Loop Ambulance Service continues to help heal the region, even as it tries to heal its self.
