Call us if you need the Scunion.
We’ll bring it!
Team Scunion was formed during the Overdrive Initiative.
A small group of randos got together in a Crusader A2 to bomb bunkers, shoot guards in the face, and hack servers.
What began as a small group of randos working together to get the F7A upgrade has now become a Decentralized PMC, working to connect new / serial solo players and bring the scunion!
Team Scunion was founded for players who don’t have anyone to play with, by players who didn’t have anyone to play with.
New players, serial solo players, even grizzled veterans who backed this game over a decade ago: All are welcome, except Murder-Hobos.
We are dedicated to helping other players accomplish what they cannot on their own.
The idea is simple: build a network of players willing to help each other, mentor new players, and attempt to inculcate a net-positive game culture. By operating decentralized, all organization members have the autonomy to participate in events or decline as they see fit without fear of repercussions or losing organizational status. Additionally, each organization member can negotiate their own prices or conduct pro bono operations without notifying any org leadership: because there isn’t really any org leadership, other than the minimum required to administer this page and hand out promotions. That also means there are no dues to be paid, no required meetings, and no need to be on the server during specific days / times. The only requirement we have from our members is if they got together in a large group and did something awesome, that one of them slip us a note about what was done and who all was there for promotion considerations.
We are billeted as a PMC, but we do not limit ourselves to FPS and Ship to Ship Combat. If you need some hands to move boxes on your Reclaimer, you are likely to find some people in Team Scunion that will help you with that. Thinking about buying a ship, but you want to walk around it or test drive it first? There is likely someone in this org who owns it and will let you test it out.
Team Scunion is merely a network of players helping each other bring the scunion to aspects of the game that are difficult to impossible to solo.
Being decentralized means we don’t have a rigid command structure.
The hierarchy is completely flat, so each member has the latitude to participate or decline without risking loss of organizational membership or status.
Promotions are given out based on participation in successful challenging / multi-crew event sessions (i.e. Critical Threat, Overdrive Initiative, Jumptown, etc.).
Participation engenders experience, which the promotions are designed to reflect.
By working together, members of Team Scunion will be able to inculcate the following competencies:
