Universal Drop Federation / UDF

The year is 2920, a Terran born male named Isaac Drop is outside of Centauri. He is living in a time where his government is pouring everything into projects he doesn’t support, billions of people are of the same opinion. Vanduul attack at every turn, nowhere is safe. None of this concerns Isaac, his duty to the empire is to explore and expand. He is backed by a fleet, a self-raised force one capital ship and escorts strong, designated “Mankind’s Reach”. His fleet has been cataloging planets and their resources, finding mineral rich worlds that will fuel the empire. If he chooses to sell the information to them. Everything changed after he lost contact a scouting force in the next system. He, caring personally for his men, ordered all of his strength into the system. He finds the wreck of his scouting force, surrounded in powerless and destroyed Vanduul fighters and a ship of an unknown class and make. This ship is no design ever seen by humanity, but is obviously Vanduul. He immediately orders a search of his ships and eventually the Vanduul, the life that Isaac Drop led took a drastic turn immediately. What he found, on the Vanduul warship, was only ever described as “An object that constantly hinted at infinite power”. After intense study, our founder decided that whatever this object’s purpose; this Relic would further humanity’s expanse into the stars.

However, fate was not on our founder’s side. This unknown artifact was not either, unseen by Isaac and his crew was a tracker. After months with this artifact he was finally caught by the vengeful fleets of the Vanduul. They swarmed him, coming from different sectors (which spoke volumes of this relic’s power, that it could unite the splintered fleets of the Vanduul) and swooping in with superior technology, overwhelming his fleet in a rain of fusillade and torpedo contrails. Ordering his ships to abandon the battle and contact the UEE to aid his cause, realizing the importance of his expedition’s data to the Empire; Isaac tried to make peace with his and his crew’s lonely death in the void. Much to his surprise, only one ship out of his fleet broke the line and jumped, the Aristodemus . The others stood their ground, not fearing death by xenos, launching effective and well controlled volleys of ordnance. Thousands of xenos and brave humans died in the ensuing battle. Eventually it was down to Isaac’s ship, surrounded by freezing corpses and broken ships. The Vanduul closed in, certainly recognizing this as the command ship, deploying pods as they close the kilometers between the ships. Soon the ship was crawling with Vanduul, tearing their way through the security teams to get closer to the bridge. As they crashed through the bulkhead, Isaac drew his sidearm and fired into the horde. He was cut down in a hail of energy weapon fire and took his last breath wondering if he had made an impact on humanity.

Heralded by the Aristodemus, news soon spread through human controlled space. Millions were outraged at the atrocity wrought on Isaac and his fleet. They called for the UEE to act, to turn their fleets to the Vanduul, bringing the vengeance of mankind upon them. They would not answer the call.

Thirty years later, his sons decided they would. We are the UDF (Universal Drop Federation), our mission is to eradicate the Vanduul. Not only for vengeance for our father, but for the good of the human race. We will grow, we will fight, and through force we will prevail.
