2. Evolution & High-Risk Escorts (2850–2920)
As civilian trade expanded rapidly in the 29th century, High Command formally elevated the task group into a full Escort Fleet. The Battle of Gateway Point (2938): A small 17th task force held the Stanton-Magnus jump gate against a 14-ship pirate armada for six hours, allowing a crippled civilian refugee fleet to safely evacuate.

Operation Clean Sweep (2949): The 17th systematically dismantled a major network of Nine Tails interdiction stations hidden within the Aaron Halo asteroid belt.

SECTION I: FORMATION & AUTHORITY
Under the direct authority of the Legatus Navium and the UEE Naval High Command,
the 17th Escort Fleet (“The Iron Threshold”) is hereby commissioned as a permanent,
specialized naval division. This Charter establishes the operational boundaries,
command hierarchy, and legal authority of the 17th Fleet across assigned sectors.

SECTION II: CORE DIRECTIVES & JURISDICTION
1. PRIMARY MISSION: Secure, defend, and maintain public and military transit through assigned sector corridors, jump points, and high-risk trade routes.
2. CONVOY ESCORT: Provide continuous armed escort to UEE military transports, essential fuel/logistics convoys, and civilian merchant fleets under transit.
3. FRONTIER INTERDICTION: Neutralize unlawful interdictions, pirate ambushes, hostile alien raiding parties, and anti-UEE insurgent syndicates.
4. JURISDICTION: Primary theater encompasses the Stanton-Pyro Jump Corridor, outer system jump gates, and surrounding deep-space transit lanes.
