During the first Tevarin War, the Foxtrot Omega division of the Navy formed the backbone of the special forces infrastructure, crack pilots would be chosen from within the squadrons and would engage in live-fire training to further hone their skills. Failure would mean death, success would mean a mission that most would not return from. Their Motto “Forward, Onward” stemmed from the lack of pilots that returned and earned the division the unfortunate nickname of the coffin squad.
Those that survived stayed close to each other and as the war ended they found themselves without purpose and left on an unnamed planet, branded as reckless and as liabilities, some even went as far as calling them mentally damaged by the training that created them. Their fierce loyalty to the Imperator often led them to many a night in the brig as they defended their right to wear the same wings as every other pilot.
When the fascist Messer overthrew the Imperator, he sought to eliminate the squadrons loyal to him. Known for their loyalty the Foxtrot Omega division found themselves being hunted by the very system they fought to defend. Advocacy Agents descended upon them and the fighting was fierce. But as many as the suicide squad felled the more came to eliminate them, many were lost. Hope came from above as they looked to the stars for salvation. A pilot known only as The Reaper arrived on the unnamed planet. An FO pilot himself he had been selected for solo missions only and had long since been feared missing or dead. His Cutlass decimated the Advocacy assault but only long enough for the remaining division members to grab what they could carry and leave the planet.
Among the distant systems of the empire, they sought refuge, often on Banu Protectorate planets. There, they hired themselves out as mechanics, guns for hire and hauling cargo that was either dangerous, illegal or both. There they hid, eluding Advocacy Agents and constantly changing location.
When the Messer regime fell the remaining FOD survivors and their families emerged from hiding, fully pardoned by the new government they refused full integration into the Marines and instead chose to pursue new ventures in space. With the grace of the Imperator and an anonymous donation, the surviving members formed the Freelance Omega Corporation. To this day they can be found doing the things nobody else wants to or has the guts to do.
Our Board of Directors will unveil our official corporate statements soon. Please come back for updated information.
“ Others will follow and surely find their way home. Man’s search will not be denied, but these men and women were the first and they will remain the foremost in our hearts.
For every human being who looks up at the stars will know there is some corner of another world that is forever mankind”
“These men are laying down their lives in mankind’s most noble goal the search for truth and understanding.
They will be mourned by their families.
They will be mourned by the people of the world
They will be mourned by a mother Earth, who sent her sons and daughters into the unknown.”
“In their exploration they stirred the people of the world to feel as one; in their sacrifice, they bind more tightly the brotherhood of man.”
“In Ancient days. men looked at the stars and saw their heroes in the constellations, in modern times we do the same, but our heroes are epic men and women of blood and flesh”
“To the Verse. Forwards! Onwards!”
