The United Kingdom Colonial Marine Corp (UKCMC), commonly known as the Redcoats, are one of the United Kingdoms’ primary far out post “force-in-readiness”,

History

Founded in 2271, they specialized in exploration with ability to operate independently in environments far from home for extended periods.

The UKCMC became a major striking element of the United Planets of Earth (UPE), and was one of the nation’s major means of forcibly entering a hostile area from space. Its ability to project power on distant worlds made it an essential element to the nation’s security, and as such its versatility and responsiveness were key in any crisis.

At its peak in 2541 during the Tevarin war, the UKCMC numbered over 15,000 Marines; by 2545 that number had dropped to 7,000, with a further 1,000 in reserve.

When the United Planets of Earth changed to form the United Empire of Earth (UEE) in 2546, the UKCMC broke apart into a number of smaller sub-operations.

Now (2945), only a hand full of Marines remain. The Redcoats are one such group which try to uphold traditions. Generally, they are respected and trusted although a few instances have been reported. While they do not work directly for any one company, they are often called upon as a security force whenever interests are at risk.

Manifesto

If you have a problem, if no-one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the Redcoats.
