History

The UNSF’s defensive militia force is governed by the UNSC Defense Force (UNSCDF), and consists of the UNSF Air Force, the UNSF Army, the UNSF Marine Corps, and the UNSF Navy.

The UNSCDF is run by the UNSC Security Council, with the professional head being UNSC High Command, based on Earth. Control is exercised through regional CENTCOMs, which have responsibility over certain areas of space.

The Navy houses the divisions of UNSF Marine Corps (including the special forces branch of the UNSF Marines known as Planetary Enforcement Officers) Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI), and the Fleet.

The UNSF Army and UNSF Air Force maintain garrisons on colony worlds. When certain rebellious factions began to rise in 2530, the UNSF was forced to police its protected colonies tirelessly to keep privateers and pirates from raiding the colonies and any UNSF ships.

UNSC Salvage Directive

The Salvage Directive is a regulation enforced by the Unified Earth Government in regards to salvage rights. The directive allows for civilian salvage crews to recover and sell small arms to markets. Nuclear weapons and other heavy ordnance are not permitted for recovery. Instead, salvage crews are to report them to the UNSF, who will compensate them for their find.

UNSF Security Act

UNSF Security Act (Title II, Subtitle C, Sec. 312) is a security protocol for classified material, used by the United Nations Security Force, preventing unauthorized personnel from viewing such material.

Charter

Airman (Amn)

The lowest enlisted rank in the UNSF Air Force.

Airman First Class (A1C)

the second enlisted rank in the UNSF Air Force, immediately below Senior Airman, and above Airman. The pay grade for Airman is E-2. It is equal to an Army Private First Class, Marine Lance Corporal, or Navy Crewman.

Senior Airman (SrA)

The Air Force promotes an Airman First Class (A1C) to Senior Airman upon a commander’s recommendation after 36 months time in service and 20 months time in the grade of A1C or may be promoted to Senior Airmen six months early, in a competitive process which normally involves going before a competitive board. Senior Airmen are expected to be technically proficient and begin to develop leadership skills.

Technical Sergeant (TSgt)

Within the enlisted Air Force, promotion to TSgt. has historically been the second most difficult rank to achieve. Technical Sergeants provide technical leadership and serve as mentors to junior enlisted members in preparation for entry into the senior non-commissioned tier and promotion to the rank of Master Sergeant.

Chief Master Sergeant (CMSgt)

All Chief Master Sergeants are expected to serve as mentors for company-grade and field-grade commissioned officers, as well as non-commissioned officers and junior enlisted members, and to serve as advisers to unit commanders and senior officers.

Command Chief Master Sergeant (CCM)

Command Chief Master Sergeants serve as senior advisers to commanders and advise the Commander on all enlisted matters, including all issues affecting the command’s mission and operations, and the readiness, training, utilization, morale, technical and professional development, and quality of life of all enlisted members in the organization. Command Chiefs are the functional managers for all Chief Master Sergeants and First Sergeants in their entire command/organization.
