The Upstanding Gentlemen of Jupiter Orbital Base is a trans-planetary organization dealing primarily in commercial and technological enterprises, mergers, planetary policy, and fringe-space resource acquisition.
History
The history of the organization stems back to the riots on the Jupiter Orbital Base during the last century. The base was primarily used for surveying purposes, but many today question the validity of the claim. Some say the original GENTLEMEN knew the truth; a ‘skunk’ works project similar to the mid-20th century United States DARPA projects, many think that the GENTLEMEN are actually the reason the Vanduuls have the technology they do, and why Drake seems to have illicit technologies. Presently, there are signs of the base that can still be found as debris orbiting Jupiter.
With trans-planetary initiatives all around known space, it seems the GENTLEMEN are always talking at economic forums, technology summits, and fringe “outreach” programs.
Manifesto
The manifesto is something of a mystery and has never been publicly distributed. “Truth seekers” often claim it finds cues from texts that were found written on the famous seven stone structures of Ganymede. The STONES OF GANYMEDE have been dated to be over 400,000 years old. Reputable anthropological circles dismiss this, as most experts believe the STONES OF GANYMEDE are nothing more than ship manifests from an ancient race of merchants.
Crackpot conspiracy theorists long claim the GENTLEMEN have, for generations, adhered to something known only to members as the MOHEVIAN FUTURE TEXTS. The GENTLEMEN themselves have never publicly confirmed or denied this, which concurrently has only helped fuel more speculation. To date, there has been no evidence of a civilization called the Mohevians, or any related texts.
