We are the US Military Gamers. US Military Gamers is a non-competitive gaming community comprised of active duty, reserve, guard and prior service military, civil service and civil service and civilian gamers from all branches of the military and all around the globe.

History

US Military Gamers was founded July 2009 by a visionary whom wanted to to bring together a community of like-minded service members whom share a common pastime as a way to unwind from the harshness of duty. He wasn’t a fan of Live matchmaking’s “unruly nature” and figured there had to be a whole untapped world of vets just like him who were just looking to have fun on Xbox 360.

A lot has changed since 2009, and now our community boast more then 2000 members, with a presence in most if not ALL popular games.

US Military Gamers continues to grow and prosper, and continues to be dedicated to providing a fun, non-competitive, and positive environment to military gamers while promoting respect for all gamers.

We find ourselves in this new universe flying under the united banner of out community and brotherhood.

Manifesto

Our vision serves as a framework for our mission, it models every aspect of our community by reminding us of what we need to accomplish to have superior growth as a community and to better serve our members.

Members: Be a safe haven for military gamers to relax and speak their mind about various topics and expect to be treated with respect as well as respect fellow members.

Community: Give back to the military and gaming communities by providing relevant information about topics that are of great interest to the respective communities. To maintain close ties to the public through charitable outreach and volunteer actions within the local community of our members.

Family: Treat every member as an extension of our own family. Listen to their concerns when needed and be there for each other to lean on as members deal with the unique struggles of military life both while active and as a veteran. To bring into the fold our civilian counterparts because it is their freedoms that we fight so fervently to protect, and it is they who keep the candle burning until every service member has returned home.

Staff: To continue to uphold the mission of the community and grow as leaders of the community in which we serve. To set the example for members to follow and to uphold the high standards we have set forth for each and every member. To continue to improve and constantly strive to create the predominant military gaming community.

We are here casually, we are enabling members of USMG to interpret this universe as their own vision of what they wish to accomplish. There are no limits to what we can accomplish and there are no boundaries to where we can go.

US MILITARY GAMERS is a military gaming community for current/veteran military & civilian gamers.

Our vision is to provide a relaxed and friendly environment to current/veterans military and older civilian gamers who don’t take themselves too seriously. For our members, this group isn’t just about enjoying the game, but also about developing a sense of fellowship/friendship & community.

Any other communities should be involved in games that USMG does NOT have a clear and defined presence in. If there is any question or confusion on what games USMG is active in, a member can simply inquire on the forums or directly to the council.

Failure to abide by these rules on a can result in an infraction being placed against you. Most infractions are worth one point, although we reserve the right to give you more at any time if we feel you deserve them. USMG Groups
Within the forums here at the USMG, we have different groups with their own color coding to identify them to all registered users of the site. You can find a list of all registered members of the site by clicking on the “Members” link in the nav-bar under the community drop-down.

Registered Users

Once someone registers and confirms the registration via email, they’re automatically placed in the group “Registered Users”. These names are shown in pink and have the title “Registered User” under their name. This indicates that this person has completely registered with the site, but has not yet submitted an application to become an USMG member.

USMG Probationary Member

Those who have decided that they’d like to become USMG members and have submitted their membership application and been approved on a 30 day probationary period are USMG Probationary Member. Their names are highlighted in black and the title below their names. These folks are new, and may need some help and guidance from the community to show them the ropes.

USMG Member

After the 30 day probationary period and elapsed, an Probationary Member is auto-magically moved into the USMG Member group, and their names become blue and have the title member under their name.

USMG Staff or Green Team

“Example is the best precept.” — Aesop (c.620-560 BC)

US Military Gamers has a small staff which serves as a governing body for the development of the community. They are responsible for setting the direction of the group, enforcing the clans charter & bylaws, solving disputes, establishing structure, and developing tools and enhancements for the enjoyment of its membership. The Staff is also responsible for the evaluational of applicants and welcome new members, to promote/recruit US Military Gamers out in the world, and to help setup and host clan events. All names of Staff members are shown in green and have the title Staff under their name. Anyone who is a current applicant should look to these folks first when seeking a game to play with USMG members during the evaluation process.
