>V< - Valkyrie / VALKYRJA

Valkyrie is a group of casual but dedicated gamers.

Valkyrie – known by its insignia >V< – was created in 2009 by gamers who were looking for an alliance that provided added value and a broader experience to the games they played. The group was founded in the universe of a competitive Facebook game called War Metal and quickly rose to become one of the most recognized alliances, there and beyond. Its success was earned thanks to its values of tolerance, diversity, and mutual support, as well as great leadership by its admins. Valkyrie’s form evolved over five years to accommodate its members’ play-styles and to fill specific roles in the game universe. >V< Emergency Response Team became the group for dedicated Valkyrie who were available and able to respond to emergencies and incidents of bullying, while Valkyrie Training Grounds was the school founded with the aim of training and testing new players. Valkyrie then created >V< Factions in response to the new developments in the game which focused more on small team combat.

Our members sought to carry the name and branding with them to other games they played and thus Valkyrie spread around the internet. The winged Valkyrie – >V< – became recognized across several platforms. The group retired in 2015 when all of its leaders moved on and most of the games it played shut down.

As one of the founders of the alliance, I see Star Citizen as the perfect fictional universe in which to recreate Valkyrie. Our strengths were our focus on creating our own supplementary lore, as well as our management style which allowed members to craft their own paths while remaining under the umbrella of the alliance. I hope to create a similarly interesting history within the Star Citizen universe while enjoying every aspect of the game. The possibilities here are endless and we can choose where we want to go.
