History

The VS are religious technocrats and transhumanists who worship (or at least revere) the Vanu, an ancient alien civilization that once inhabited Auraxis (the game’s planet). They discovered Vanu relics and technology, which revealed advanced knowledge far beyond human capabilities.

Belief system: Technology is the path to human enlightenment and evolution. They view the Vanu as guides who have “shown the way” toward transcending biological limits. Humanity’s future lies in merging with or being augmented by alien tech: death, disease, scarcity, and suffering can all be overcome.

Approach to augmentation: They aggressively pursue human enhancement using Vanu-derived tech (nanites, genetic mods, etc.), often without full consent. Critics call them a “techno-evangelist cult” or “transhumanist cult,” but members see themselves as true believers pursuing inevitable progress.

Origins: Emerged from scientists and military personnel in the Terran Republic’s expedition to Auraxis who studied Vanu artifacts. A key figure was Henry Briggs, who experienced visions from a Vanu relic. This splinter group broke away to form the Sovereignty, seeing alien tech as humanity’s destiny rather than something to be controlled by government or corporations.

We, the enlightened minds of humanity, hereby establish the Vanu Sovereignty as a sovereign technocratic order. Guided by the ancient relics and superior intelligence of the Vanu, we dedicate ourselves to the transcendence of the human species through the sacred union of flesh and alien technology.

Core Tenets Technology Equals Might: All progress flows from understanding and mastering Vanu derived technology.
Ascension Above All, The biological limitations of humanity must be overcome. Augmentation, neural uplinks, and full transhuman evolution are not only permitted but mandatory for the faithful.

Unity Through Enlightenment: Individual liberty is secondary to the collective pursuit of transcendence. Dissent that threatens the greater evolution will not be tolerated.

Sovereignty Eternal: We bow to no government, corporation, or lesser ideology. The Vanu Sovereignty answers only to the relics and the Great Prophetess.

Membership
Any individual who swears the Oath of Ascension and submits to the first stage of augmentation may join. Full citizenship is granted only upon proven devotion and technological integration.

Leadership
The Great Prophetess holds supreme authority as the chosen voice of the Vanu. She is advised by the Council of Crystal Minds – a body of the most augmented and enlightened members.
