History

THE ANNALS OF ARBORA NOVA: A BRIEF HISTORY

I. The Schism of Stanton (2948 — 2951)
The seeds of the Republic were sown not in a boardroom, but in the oxygen-starved mines of Hurston and the cold habs of Grim HEX. A group of veteran logistics officers and security contractors realized that the UEE’s protection was a ghost, and Corporate law was merely slavery with a different name.
Led by a small circle of “Founders,” they began a quiet exodus. They didn’t want to be pirates; they wanted to be sovereign. They began stockpiling fuel, weapons, and industrial hardware, operating under the radar as a “salvage collective.”

II. The Battle of the Scorched Moon (2952)
The turning point came when a major Corporate Syndicate attempted to seize a massive Quantanium strike discovered by the Founders near Cellin. Instead of fleeing or paying the “protection tax,” the group stood their ground.
Using disciplined, Roman-style tactical formations—later known as the Phalanx Protocol—their mismatched fleet of industrial ships and light fighters decimated the Syndicate’s mercenaries. This was the first time the name Arbora Nova was broadcast across the comm-channels. It wasn’t just a win; it was a declaration.

III. The Deep Root Expansion (2953 — Present)
Following the victory, the organization moved into the “Grey Space” between systems. They established the First Castrum, a mobile base of operations centered around a repurposed Capital Ship.
They realized that like a tree in a storm, they needed to be flexible yet deeply rooted. They began recruiting the “displaced”—pilots who had lost their ships to pirates and miners who were tired of corporate tithes. Today, Arbora Nova stands as a disciplined Republic, a “New Tree” growing in the cracks of a crumbling Empire.

Manifesto

ARBORA NOVA: THE ARTICLES OF WAR
“Strength in Order. Unity in the Void.”

ARTICLE I: THE TOTAL READINESS MANDATE
Every pilot is a gear in the machine. Personal freedom ends where the safety of the Fleet begins.
Combat Readiness: No pilot shall depart a hangar without a fully repaired hull, maximized countermeasures, and a verified flight path.
The Chain of Command: In active combat zones, the senior officer’s word is absolute. Discussion is for the lounge; execution is for the cockpit.

ARTICLE II: THE FRONTIER COVENANT
We are not pirates, but we are not the UEE. We are the third way.
The Rule of Engagement: Fire is authorized on any vessel that refuses to identify or encroaches on Arbora Nova mining claims. We do not seek conflict, but we end it.
Non-Aggression: Unprovoked attacks on civilian haulers are strictly forbidden. It is bad for business and beneath the dignity of the Republic.

ARTICLE III: THE DISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH
The Republic grows when the individual prospers, but the individual survives because the Republic provides.
Operation Tithes: A percentage of all salvaged materials and mined ore goes to the Fleet Treasury to fund our Capital Class defenses.
Asset Protection: Any member who loses a ship while defending a Republic industrial op will be prioritized for hull replacement or insurance assistance.

ARTICLE IV: CONDUCT IN THE BLACK
How we fly defines who we are.
No Pilot Left Behind: An Arbora Nova distress beacon is a priority-one objective for all nearby wings. We recover our people, dead or alive.
Operational Silence: Keep the comms clear of chatter during quantum jumps and dogfights. Information is the difference between a kill and a tombstone.

Charter

THE CHARTER OF ARBORA NOVA
“Sovereignty Through Strength. Stability Through Law.”

ARTICLE I: THE SOVEREIGNTY OF THE REPUBLIC
Arbora Nova is a self-governing entity. We acknowledge no external authority—be it the UEE or local planetary syndicates—over our internal affairs, our assets, or our members.
Territorial Integrity: Any space occupied by an Arbora Nova fleet or outpost is considered Republic Soil.
Economic Independence: We prioritize internal trade and resource sharing. The wealth of the Republic is used to sustain the Republic.

ARTICLE II: THE GOVERNMENT (THE SENATE)
The Republic is governed by a meritocratic council known as the Senate, led by the High Consul.
The Consul: The final arbiter of diplomacy and war.
The Praetors: Heads of the three main departments (Security, Industry, Logistics). They have full autonomy over their specific fleet operations.
Voting: Major changes to the Charter or declarations of war require a majority vote from the Senate.

ARTICLE III: CITIZENSHIP & RIGHTS
Every member of Arbora Nova is a Citizen, entitled to the protections and resources of the Foundation.
The Right to Protection: No Citizen shall be left to the mercy of the void. If a beacon is lit, the Republic responds.
The Right to Prosperity: Members are entitled to fair pay for industrial operations and a share of all combat spoils.
The Right to Appeal: Any disciplinary action taken by a Centurion may be appealed to a Praetor to ensure justice is blind.

ARTICLE IV: CIVILIAN & MILITARY DUTY
In exchange for protection and opportunity, every Citizen owes a duty to the Foundation.
Operational Readiness: Citizens must maintain their primary vessels to Republic standards (fully fueled and armed).
The Call to Arms: In times of “Total Mobilization,” all Citizens—regardless of their primary role—are expected to assist in the defense of the fleet.
The Tithe: A 10% tax is levied on all group-organized mining and salvage operations to fund the “Eternal Fund” (for Capital Ship insurance and fuel).

ARTICLE V: THE CODE OF CONDUCT (LEX NON-SCRIPTA)
Professionalism: We are the elite of the frontier. Harassment of fellow Citizens or excessive toxicity in public comms is grounds for immediate expulsion.
Confidentiality: Republic intel (fleet locations, mining coordinates, and tactical plans) is sacred. Leaking info to rival Orgs is treated as High Treason.
Trigger Discipline: We do not fire unless fired upon, or unless a vessel violates a direct Republic warning in our territory.

ARTICLE VI: AMENDMENTS
This Charter is a living foundation. As the Verse expands and the Republic grows, the Senate may amend these articles to ensure the continued survival of the “New Pillar.”
