The twin pillars of Discovery and Development form the basis of civilization. Help us build something that will last!
Founded by an inveterate wanderer, Volute Enterprises is the tongue-in-cheek brainchild of Guthrie “Fredhoof” Firman. Originally created so that he had a company that he could put on his personal business cards, Volute Enterprises now reflects his ideal of exploring the far reaches of the universe and taking advantage of the opportunities found there.
Wandering the stars is our way of life. This is why we’re here.
Earning credits through legal (and semi-legal) means. Finding resources is more rewarding than stealing them.
The root of civilization. Conducting yourself in a polite manner both inside and outside of Volute Enterprises.
The freedom to fly solo, paired with the will to team up when circumstances call for it. There are times to be alone, and times to work together.
As befits a freewheeling company such as our own, there is only one major rule:
Seriously – while we may mostly work independently, focused on our own explorations and opportunities, that’s no reason to be rude, either to each other or to those outside of Volute Enterprises1.
Beyond this, there’s just a few guidelines we live by:
Piracy, slave-trading, and other crimes of similar stature are considered to be bad form, and will not be tolerated. Smuggling… well, if in doubt, ask – and try not to get caught when making the run!
You don’t have to give us detailed reports, but a general heads-up of interesting news is sufficient in most cases. If you found a small source of a hot commodity, just say that you found an opportunity that you’re keeping close to your chest. If it’s a large source of a hot commodity – larger than any one ship could manage solo – let us know so we can all chip in!
This is what it all comes down to. The thrill of discovery, the pride in a credit cleverly earned; we fly for that enjoyment. Always remember that.
Swift flight to you!
1 Rudeness to pirates that are attacking you is, of course, a valid exception.
