History

What is The Wayfarer’s Compact?

The Compact is a collective of individuals that value the camaraderie of their fellows. We welcome anyone looking for a community, regardless of skill. Our goal is to create a welcoming community for as many people as possible. Roleplaying is also a fun and optional part of the org, many members taking up the mantle of a character, creating a backstory, and roleplaying with their orgmates.

Our History

The org founders, Valerie Winters and Owen Freestrider, met in 2951 when Valerie was on micro-tech looking for hands on their corsair for an upcoming mission and found Owen in a local bar. The two were successful, got paid, and went their separate ways. A few years later in early 2953, they met by coincidence on crusader; Owen had a temporary stint as a freelance worker for crusader security, and Val was in the process of stealing some crusader data for use in putting a vendetta of theirs to rest. The serendipity resulted in Val once again hiring Owen, and after successfully completing the mission, the two remained in contact, doing regular missions and working together until later that year the two decided to form The Wayfarer’s Compact: an organization that would provide community for the lonely souls wandering the stars. Since, we have provided a home for drifters from all corners of the universe.

Camaraderie

The Compact strives to create an open environment where the camaraderie of our friends and orgmates allows us to enjoy the verse to its full extent. We believe that the verse is orders of magnitude more enjoyable when experienced with friends, both in and out of game. Whether roleplaying characters over voice chat while holding jumptown, sitting down after a long day and just setting up a chill salvage operation with a couple friends, or chatting about the newest concept ship that probably won’t release within the next 6 years over discord, we assert that doing so is better with others. This org has been built as a monument to that ideal.

Accommodation

We strive to accommodate as many diverse individuals as we can. We are an org open to all: hardcore or casual, experienced or newbie, roleplay focused or not. The compact welcomes you, regardless of race, gender, sexuality, or disability. We exist to create a positive environment for everyone to hopefully enjoy this game as much as we do.

Respect

As we strive for this ideal of a community of camaraderie and accommodation, we also want to create a respectful one. As such, we stand firmly against hate speech, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, and discrimination of any kind. If it is your intention to be hateful, we encourage you to do so elsewhere.

Education

We place a lot of value in the new player experience and more specifically, enhancing it. Our rank system was built around the new player experience, and we highly value a hands on learning experience where new players are able to get their first few missions under their belt alongside the compact’s community.
