Humanity’s expansion into space was rapid and far reaching. New colonies backed by corporations and their investors ushered humanity into new worlds and unfathomable riches. After hundreds of years, the UEE was losing its grip on its now vast Empire. The UEE Military forces were simply lacking the numbers needed to secure each system Humanity occupied. This of course led to an increase in crime and lawlessness in most systems and added greatly to the stress of UEE citizens. To compound the issue, corrupt government officials and Military officers seeking to further their career and please their political backers turned a blind eye to these issues. This corruption went unchecked for hundreds of years, becoming cemented further under the banner of “tradition.”

When Humanity first encountered the Vanduul, the large hideous crack in Humanities armor became apparent. The human race found itself fighting for its very survival, with one arm tied behind its back. It became brutally apparent to some of humanity’s fighting men that our race was ill equipped to handle a threat such as the Vanduul. The UEE was well trained but spread too thin to provide adequate protection for each system and its citizens. As a result, poorly trained mercenary groups, corporate security fleets, and even civilians stood as the only defense in some parts of the Empire. They heroically threw themselves into the fray and defended their loved ones honorably, but ultimately they were massacred. The citizens relied on an Empire that had failed them hundreds of years prior, unbeknownst to them.

In the aftermath of the First Vanduul war, a few of Humanity’s fighting men knew the truth. The Empire had failed her citizens, and those who did stand in defence of humanity were ill equipped and ill prepared. The Empire’s corruption had nearly caused our extinction.

In the ensuing years, these fighting men continued to hold open discord and subverted the Empire’s restrictions and laws in the name of personal defense. Slowly a group of independent warfighters, mercenaries, and privateers emerged and formed The Warfighter Directorate. This Union of warriors exists to ensure that the defenders of humanity stay sharp and ready. Knowledge and tactics that were once exclusive to military forces, are now available to all those who walk the path of the warrior. Never again will humanity’s defenders be ill prepared to face a threat, nor will they rely on protection from an Empire riddled with deceit and corruption.

The Warfighter Directorate will see to it, that every citizen has access to basic tactics and warfighting knowledge.
