Manifesto

Who We Are

At Warhound, we recognize you don’t need to be tough to game. You don’t need to look a certain way; you don’t need to be cool, elite, or tough to be competent. Anyone can pull a trigger and kill an enemy, fly in wing well, think up a good enough plan, and issue reasonable orders.

So we trust you. This org supports Star Citizen’s LGBTQ+ community and its allies.

We believe our community members deserve some trust. So we try to speak kindly to each other. We are human; we don’t always succeed, but we’re capable and try every day. We follow people who want to lead and support those who want to grow into their roles. We want everyone to have a chance to be their best and be celebrated for it.

We find our excellence in comradery, which enables us to perform at our best for each other without worry. Our overall goal is to provide a place where Star Citizen players can learn and grow as a community to participate in all the content the game has to offer.

Methods of Play in Warhound

Casual Play – Here at Warhound, we want you to experience your best Star Citizen self. Just play the game. We prefer to play in PU rather than train for it. At Warhound Squadron, we aim to provide light training during and outside of PU play. Our training models are streamlined and posted in notes. Ultimately, we are here to experience the game as it is today.

Just use what you like, do you have a ship, components, or gear in mind that you want to use? Try it! We aim to foster a culture that lets you conduct your own science, form your own opinions, and experience equipment you haven’t used before. Your enjoyment is our priority and your findings may help the Squadron.

Just Lead the Team – Interested in seeing what leadership muscles you can flex? Ask if the current team in play would follow your lead, or create an event; anyone who creates an event has the first right to lead it!

Warhound Squadron rates events in a five-tier system to define their complexity and seriousness in the event description. This lets members set expectations for what they will be doing and how they should prepare before the event starts. These are broken down as:

  • Casual Play: Simple or low-stakes gameplay with little to no chance of PvP content. No communication restrictions in effect. No uniform or ship restrictions are enforced.
  • Training Mission: Low-stakes gameplay designed to build gameplay knowledge and develop Warhounds’ overall skills across Star Citizen disciplines. These events can include structured and unstructured gameplay, with learning taking place in a supportive environment that supports the Organization’s long-term growth and success. Equip the Warhound Standard Ground/Squadron Kit and have all combat ships ready by the mission start time, as you will train to use these tools at the highest level of effectiveness alongside other members during these events.
  • Routine Assignment: Low-stakes gameplay where unpredictability may require tighter communication. No communications restrictions are in effect, but you may switch to Combat COMs if a player encounter occurs or if you are doing low-complexity PvE encounters or higher-complexity logistics tasks (like MOLE Mining). TeamSpeak subnetting is optional and may be used by individual ships or teams if desired. We do not enforce uniform or ship restrictions. However, we recommend equipping the Warhound Standard Ground/Squadron Kit and keeping all combat ships ready, as threats could evolve to the point where higher-stakes gameplay could occur.
  • Intermediate Tasking: Moderate-risk gameplay with a reasonable chance of player interaction or high-complexity PvE content. Combat COMs are recommended, and some communication restrictions will be enforced to keep communication effective during these events. Warhound Leadership, teams, and individual ships may be subnetted over TeamSpeak to support structured communications. Members are expected to use the Warhound Standard Ground/Squadron Kit, have all combat ships ready before the event start time, and be ready to go at muster.
  • Strike Mission: High-risk gameplay with interactions with hostile players or complex PvE encounters expected. Combat COMs will be observed throughout the operation. Infantry teams, Air Wing, and individual gunships will be assigned to dedicated Discord channels and use TeamSpeak for cross-channel communication. Members are expected to use the Warhound Standard Ground/Squadron Kit, have all combat ships ready before the event start time, and be ready to go at muster when the event starts.

Warhound Squadron: Combat Roles

Warhound Squadron is organized around functional autonomous combat elements being coordinated overall by a Centralized logistical infrastructure:

The autonomous combat elements are described as follows:

  • Blockers: Damage Tanks, Heavy Craft
  • Brawlers: Fighting craft, Light craft or shock infantry
  • Strikers: DPS Craft, specialized craft that can quickly eliminate one target.
  • Controllers: Craft or Gear that exert control over a large area with force.

If you commit to Warhound Squadron, you will slowly train into these roles. As emergent content rolls out and demands more PvP interaction, we will rise as a group to meet those demands through real battlefield leadership and specialized training for aspiring commanders. This will enable our team to deliver the grand, operatic combined-arms engagements Star Citizen promises its members.

At Warhound Squadron, we want to field you as a specialist, not make you wait. Here, your engagement will be immediate, and you’ll find adequate training in the following specializations. Training is brief, knowledge-rich, and achievable.

Ground:
  • Infantry – Control, Defensive, and Rapid Assault Infantry, plus the ground vehicles that support them in the field.
  • Dropship Pilot – Transport ships used to deploy infantry squads and their equipment.
Squadron:
  • Fighter Pilot – Pilots for light, heavy, and twin-seater fighters
  • Support Pilot – Pilots for QD and EMP fighters
  • Bomber Pilot – Missile fighter, stealth bomber, and reconnaissance pilots
Fleet:
  • Gunship Crew – Multi-seat sub-capital crews
  • Capital Crew – Polaris+ Sized Ship Crews
  • Logistics Crew – Mining, Hauling, Crafting, Provisioning Personnel

Through Proper Training, morale management, and force coordination, Warhound Squadron helps its members reduce Cognitive strain and lends group strength to achieve feats of human cooperation in enjoyable ways, so our members can rely on having an enjoyable experience more often than with common groups.

How To Make Warhound Rank

Warhound Squadron uses a two-step membership process to bring Candidates into the Organization. First, Candidates must complete one division-specific training and attend two public events before they become eligible for membership sponsorship. This lets members get to know a Candidate, see how they perform in Star Citizen, and ensure they fit our Org culture before recommending them for full membership. A Warhound then steps forward to sponsor the Candidate’s membership, support them through Squadron onboarding, and facilitate Warhound-level discussion and voting on their membership status. The overall process and responsibilities can be found below:

  • Minimum Requirements to be eligible for membership sponsorship include:
  • Attend two Org Events (PvE Content Runs, PvP Operations, etc.)
  • Participate in one weekly division training session for our Squadron, Ground, or Fleet
  • Engage with Warhound members to find out if we are the right Organization for your Star Citizen experience.
  • Have a positive impact on the community and show a willingness to grow and learn with the Squadron.
  • Be open to participating in all Star Citizen content as a team member and in support of the community’s larger goals.
What the process looks like after meeting Sponsorship Requirements:
  • A Warhound recommends a prospective member for full membership and facilitates positive/negative feedback discussion
  • The Sponsor Moderates the discussion and advocates for the prospect based on their experiences
  • Warhound membership is voted on in a dedicated thread anonymously
  • If the vote comes back negative, the Sponsor works with the prospective member to improve in areas identified by the community for a follow-up vote one month later
Sponsor duties include:
  • Identifying Prospective members for promotion to Warhound
  • Interfacing with Regulators to take responsibility for sponsorship and final onboarding
  • All members, of any level, are only allowed to sponsor one Candidate at a time for membership
  • While not required, members and staff are encouraged to sponsor prospects interested in their divisions and roles to provide the most benefit during onboarding
