This is the start of my SimPit I will post updates as the build progresses. Dual Virpil controls, currently mounted on drum stools till my (SimPit) in T slot aluminium is ready. First change is moved from the medium springs to the soft. Springs are under the two black flat head screws. Temporary solution for the Virpil sticks, I have mounted both on drum stools. For the mounting, I have cut some wood for the base to add strength and used the seat holes. Then I took the bottom plate off the Virpil stick via the four screws on the base and drilled four holes in the base plate for the stainless steel bolts. Bolts have been sized to the mounting holes for the stools, around m8. The Virpil internal gimbal movement is not hindered by the bolts in the bottom and the bolts go through the plate then through the wood then it is secured onto the drum stool. Given these are music drum stools, they pack up easily, and the stools allow for easy joystick removal to disconnect them off the base. Stools have high adjustment, so I have positioned them perfectly to my chair for the time being. No slop and control and movement is perfect so happy with the temporary solution for them atm. I know wood not cut perfect but this is a temp solution also stools not damaged so seats can be connected again once I build the SimPit.
