Bio
I'm a rock monkey by trade. I used to work the hypabyssal levels of the Clearwater Mines in the Mount Mtorwi Complex, Tanzania, Earth. The Mount Mtorwi Complex is mined for chromatite, rhodium, osmium, vanadium, platinum, and gold. Mineralisation of the highest grade occurs along narrow fault junctures too deep for strip mining to be viable so we'd extract the ore with hand drills.
Hand drills are not called widow-makers for no reason and I got out before I had my turn with black lung. That wasn't before the heavy gravity buffering altered me. It's why my hair is such an unnatural colour for me.
The gravity buffering is a 29th century invention used to counter overburden pressure and reduce rockwall explosions. Working in that, at those depths, is like working in hot molasses.
My parting of ways with that life saw me crew my way out to space and I've been doing a lot of things since - but mining is still what I do when not helping out my friends.
