Guybrush Ulysses Threepwood was (possibly) born in the Caribbean where he grew up with a long term ambition to be a pirate. His unusual name is always a source of confusion among fellow pirates. Nevertheless, there is another Guybrush Threepwood in the Carribean(with middle initial Q), whose mail he often receives.
Guybrush always introduces himself as 'Guybrush Threepwood, Mighty Pirate'. What he lacks in rugged appearance and visciousness (not to mention bravery), he compensates for with his charms, sheer inventiveness (not to mention luck) and wit. These, however, immediately fail upon meeting beautiful women, though. The love of his life is Elaine Marley. In their marriage, however, she is the mighty pirate.
Guybrush is a skilled swordfighter and insulter, through years of pirating experience. He has an unexplained phobia for all things made out of porcelain, a notoriously bad tolerance for alcohol, and the unique talent of being able to hold his breath for ten minutes.
