3d printed 1:1 scale Banu Myondo knife

My take on the Luminalia gift knife. Based on ingame model files that I heavily modified and detailed in Blender.
Pitting and folded steel pattern are modelled into the blade to make finishing and painting it with an authentic look quite simple actually with pretty good results.
I went as far as to try and get the scribbled pattern on the handles as close to the ingame textures as I could. The "button" in the hilt that is an animated cloud texture in game is a separate piece I printed in clear resin.
Another full side view.
More of the handle in different light.
Banana for scale
In-game model on the left, my variant on the right. Took a few evenings of tinkering in Blender, but I think it was worth it.
I printed the knife in 2 parts, this is just to show how I oriented and supported the parts for a resin printer to have the least possible amount of postprocessing to do.

I saw pictures of this knife, and thought it'd be a fun challenge to myself to find the ingame model files, modify them and add details in Blender and 3d print and paint it as a learning process. I'm really happy with how the blade turned out. The handle was very fun to model and detail, but very difficult to paint well. In the end I think I got it more or less close enough.

As for the model files: It's against the TOS of CIG to share any model / print files of their IP, so sadly I can't just upload it and share the link with all backers, although I gladly would. But if Anybody from CIG is reading I'd really like to take the opportunity to offer this model / 3d print ready file to CIG and all backers. Ideally maybe this and other community made files could be offered by CIG to all backers via the official fankit. I'm sure there are a myriad of reasons this hasn't happened so far and I absolutely respect and understand the need to protect your IP, however I also believe there must be a way to find a middle ground where backers have some way of sharing some printable files with the community and developers.

All the best, Juhan
