Torpedos go BUUR

Please note: Most of this is math, and would require a lot of skill and luck.

Okay, so I was doing some research on torpedoes, and they do a lot of damage (If they weren’t nerfed), so I decided to run the calculations.

If you took a Retaliator with its torpedo bay modules, loaded them up with Seaker IX Torpedoes, and they all hit a Polaris with no shield. That Polaris would die. Now due to the Polaris having a shield that needs two size 9 torpedoes to kill, the Polaris would be left with 1,000,000 - 400,000 hp left on its hull.

So, if you wanted to kill a pesky Polaris here is my ideal fleet, you'll need at least 3 ships. 2 Retaliators and 1 ship that has a lot of missiles let's say the Constellation Armada. If you fired a constant stream of missiles at the Polaris to distract it's point defense system and hit every one of your torpedoes you would kill the Polaris. This would take a couple of minutes though since the lock time of a torpedo is 5 seconds, the reload time is another few seconds, and the time to reach the target is another few seconds. So, in theory 2 minutes to kill a Polaris, this is of course if you and your fleet don’t die first.

The stats for the DPS and HP of ships came from starcitizen.tools.

Another fun stat.

You’ll only need one torpedo to kill: Reclaimers, Hammerheads and most flyable ships in game.
